"We had our house in Winona painted this summer by La Crosse Painters. I have to say from beginning to end it was a pleasure working with La Crosse Painters and his crew! The owner responded to out initial call for a quote the same day. We have a two story house with a three story walk out that needed the exterior stained. John and Marshall came and were kind, courteous, and very professional. We have a German Shepherd so 1 was a little nervous on how she would be with them. Well she absolutely loved them and they loved her! With them being here every day it was so nice to have pet friendly guys doing the work. I highly recommend La Crosse Painting for any of your painting needs."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, peel-and-stick wallpaper is available that’s made from vinyl—it actually is the most common material used in peel-and-stick wallpaper. Learning how to install vinyl wallpaper is far easier when you’re using a peel-and-stick design than with adhesive. You could also select peel-and-stick wallpaper that consists of paper, polyester, or natural fibers.

One of the biggest downsides to peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it doesn't last as long as traditional wallpaper. Its lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the paper, proper wall preparation and application, and the room's conditions. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but this can vary significantly. Budget products may only last about 3 years, while higher-quality products can stay up for 7 years or more in ideal conditions. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.

You should be aware of the current wallpaper and interior trends before hanging it, especially if you are planning on selling or listing your home soon. Do people in your market tend to prefer bold designs and accent walls, or does having a simpler print all over seem like a better idea? Lastly, you want something that appeals to your aesthetic preferences; hanging wallpaper is an investment of your time and money after all.

Yes, but professional services ensure secure installation, accurate leveling, and protection against wall damage, especially for heavy or valuable items.

If you need a stronger magnetic surface, or you need to use a different type of paint in the room (like waterproof paint in a damp basement), there are other accessible options. You could fit a steel panel over the wall, try magnetic wallpaper, or apply chalk paint instead.

If you want an inexpensive shortcut, hang a pinboard or chalkboard on your wall. These removable options are ideal if you’re a renter who can’t repaint or plan to move in the near future.
