"I had a great, convenient experience. He came prepared for anything. Had all the tools & even the PVC piping needed, so I didn't have to schedule extra apts. very efficient & mindful of my price range. Also did some random repairs, added a bracket to the basement railing to stabilize it, and even helped me change my smoke detector battery. Very pleasant experience and I will be calling for future repairs and some carpentry. Very happy with this new business."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

A sliding gate, or a sliding gate door, is a versatile gate system used for various applications. Sliding gate mechanisms allow the gate to move horizontally along a track or guide system when opened or closed. They come in multiple types, including sliding folding gates, telescopic gates, cantilever gates, and track sliding gates. These gates are known for their durability, ease of installation, and user-friendly operation, making them popular for property access and security.

Even if you have extensive experience working with electronics or gates, we recommend leaving this repair to a local gate repair professional. Small tasks, such as battery replacement or debris removal, can be DIY projects, but more involved repairs require a pro’s skills and knowledge. Whenever wiring is involved, it’s easy to cause serious damage to your gate’s system, which can lead to bigger, more costly problems.

A Trex gate costs $750 plus another $200 for the hardware pack necessary for installation. By contrast, Trex fencing ranges in price from $22 to $38 per linear foot, so you may pay a lot or a little depending on just how much space you need to enclose in your yard.

It can cost $100 to $500 to purchase and install a gate opener. You can use ready-made kits that come with DIY instructions. If you hire a professional gate installer to handle the job, expect to pay an average of $100 per hour or between $200 and $500.

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.
