"Salesman here 6 hrs. Quoted over $30lk got down to $25,500. Of course it was a good for today sign now price I had more estimates lined up but after 6 hrs and him acting like he was my husbands new bf and beer buddy he signed. Scheduled walkthrough- that was cancelled. Started work and had ?issues? that walk through would have found. Blew circuit breaker in workshop of basement, we now need an electrician bc even w replacing the circuit breaker w a new breaker it still turns off. Quotedi time length/ what they would be able to do by salesman- all wrong. Workers say it will be twice as long and what sales man said they could go around they can not. Look for stains labeled for use on brick or other masonry surfaces. Avoid using regular paint on brick, as it will not adhere well and will likely lead to future maintenance issues. 

Chimney mortar typically lasts 20 to 30 years, depending on its quality, local weather conditions, and maintenance. Over time, exposure to moisture, freezing, and thawing cycles can cause mortar to deteriorate, leading to cracks and gaps. Regular inspections and timely repairs, such as repointing or tuckpointing, can extend the lifespan of chimney mortar by ensuring the structure's integrity.

These materials are durable, low-maintenance, and offer excellent insulation and aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

You may not need a hammer drill if you’re planning on drilling one or two very small diameter holes in brick. For holes with a diameter of 3/16-inch or less, a regular drill with a masonry bit can do the job. However, the bit will heat up quickly, and the process will take significantly longer than with a hammer drill. Prepare to cool your drill bit down in a bucket of water more often.
