Small jobs welcome

"Priority Painting was absolutely amazing. Matt is a man with incredibly high character. He did exactly what he said in the timeframe he promised for a very reasonable price. He was very respectful and a great communicator. The quality was top notch with great attention to detail! I couldn’t be happier."

"Tony did a fantastic job on our paint “remodel”. We moved into a 17 year old old house and wanted to freshen it up. Gone is the gold and maroon! Tony painted our ceilings which made a world of difference. We lightened up the living room, kitchen, hallway, foyer and mud room area. It took some time but It was worth it! He even heard me say I was going to paint the back door with the accent color and he did it !! Very happy with Tony’s work and his conversation. :) Highly recommend Tony!!"

Interior Painting FAQs, answered by experts

Most spray paints are oil-based, meaning you will need a solvent to dissolve them, like paint thinner, lacquer thinner, or acetone. While solvents can be useful in removing paint, they are also very flammable and require the use of a respirator. Beyond that, these products may smear paint and cannot be used on all surfaces.

Paint removal is a time-consuming job that can take anywhere from an hour for small surfaces, like a single stair banister, to multiple days for larger projects, like removing paint from wood siding. Expect to spend between five and 20 minutes per square foot. You can use chemical paint strippers to speed up the process, but be sure you use proper protective gear and take care to pick a product that’s suited for your material.

Soot can be harder to remove compared to other types of stains given its acidic nature. It can also cause underlying paint to peel off during the cleaning process. If your soot issue is a result of smoke damage, it’s recommended you call a pro to help remove it versus doing it yourself.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.

WD-40 is an effective way to remove glue and other sticky residue from many surfaces, including wood. Spray the WD-40 on the area, allow the product to sit for a few minutes, then carefully wipe away the residue. As with other adhesive removal methods, test the WD-40 on an inconspicuous spot first to ensure it won’t damage the finish.
