"Have not ever cleaned out our small pond for over 10 years. Mud and leaves on the bottom plus weeds growing! They drained the water, and power washed the pond out several times, drained again. Then refilled and crystal clean now. Made sure or pumps were connected and working right. Very pleased."

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

Some companies offer concrete pumping for hard-to-reach areas at an additional cost.

Although cesspits may be necessary depending on your main sewage system access or nearby soil quality, they carry a few drawbacks. Cesspools require regular emptying and have relatively high maintenance and pumping costs. Certain areas also disallow the use of cesspools and may require you to cover the cost of existing cesspools to be converted into septic tanks.

Plumbing leaks, roof failures, poor drainage systems, and severe weather events that lead to flooding or inundation are common causes of water accumulation.

Common problems include clogs, leaks, and drain field failures. Regular maintenance helps prevent major issues.

If there’s a problem with your sewage system, you might notice water pooling on the ground around the tank, which could indicate an overflow. Clogged and sluggish drains or foul smells coming from your plumbing are also signs that there might be a blockage in your septic system.
