Grassi has been serving the Walla Walla Valley since 1958 and is family owned and operated. We are committed to honesty, integrity, quality, pride in workmanship, and a high standard of business ethics. Our years of hard work have paid off in a business that continues to grow through referrals of satisfied clients.

"I have been a faithful customer of Grassi’s for 5+ years. They’ve installed 3 systems for me and serviced 4. I am a small business owner in town and don’t take negative reviews lightly. As of today, Grassi has lost me as a loyal customer. Over the past 6 months we’ve had consistent issues with a couple systems (5+ call outs to 2 properties). To their credit, since the units are under warranty they say they will warranty the parts. Even still we are at $1,700+ costs thus far. Today, our tenant was cold and turned on the heater. It is 60 degrees outside. Grassi is charging for another callout as the units that they worked on within the month threw another code. Their technician, Cody, called us and told us that this is an operator error, blaming our tenant for their machine malfunction, as these are “not designed to heat when the temperature outside is above 60”. These are the only heat source for the house as recommended and installed by Grassi. What is our tenant supposed to do? I don’t believe this is an engineering issue as I have more faith in Carrier (the brand installed) or my tenant, who deserves to be comfortable. My take is that this was either poorly installed or poorly recommended. When asking more questions Cody, the technician, told us that we knew nothing about refrigeration and hung up on us."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

No, most homeowners don't have the skills and experience required to convert their electric stove to gas on their own. You must hire an electrician and a licensed gas plumber for the conversion. This job requires swapping out the existing 240-volt outlet for a 110-volt outlet and may also involve installing or extending an existing gas line.

Most likely, a gas plumber would be the best pro for many components in your home, and you might not even realize it. Natural gas plumbers are responsible for maintaining and installing natural gas lines, including installing appliances that use natural gas. These can include:

  • Fireplaces

  • Water heaters

  • Furnaces

  • Hot tubs

  • Clothes dryers

  • Ovens

  • Outdoor grills

Gas plumbers are also the pros that would handle a natural gas leak in your home, so it's essential to know the signs of a gas leak before it becomes a dangerous situation.

In some cases, conversion kits are available, but not all boilers are compatible. Conversion may require significant modifications and should only be performed by a qualified professional. Before making a decision, compare conversion costs to the cost of a complete replacement to determine the most cost-effective and reliable option for your home.

You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides.

Most water heaters today use atmospheric venting that exhausts the gas out of the home through a pipe.

Comprehensive checks, utilizing proper materials, and immediate leak testing.
