"I was looking into having a custom spare tire and gasoline container holder installed on my new Class C RV. I reached out to Dave at Quality Mobile Welding, and he responded very quickly. I mentioned that I had some pictures of what I envisioned. Dave visited within a day or two. Not only was the quality of his work exceptional, but his innovative approach enhanced our project beyond what we had initially imagined from the pictures we provided. I wholeheartedly recommend his services; his work truly exceeded our expectations."

"I would hire J&M Remodel again for any job. They did a great job not only on my siding, but also installed two new decks from the ground up, swapped out a French door, and removed the old front door. I've recommended them at work, where they do stellar improvements around our office, including concrete and building remodel/construction, and cabinetry installation. Coworkers have also hired them for their personal house projects after seeing the work, and work ethic, that they exhibit around our office"

Welding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Some welding projects, such as repairing pipes or fences, require travel, whereas others, like furniture repair, do not necessarily require the welder to come to you. Travel and overhead factor into the overall cost of your welding project. Some of the most common welding projects include:

  • Metal furniture repair: $35–$100

  • Pipe repair: $200–$1,000

  • Small gates: $550–$750

  • Fencing: $1,200–$1,800

  • Fabricated sheet metal welding: $750–$2,500
