"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

The contractor did an excellent job from start to finish and made sure everything was completed properly and up to the required standards. They were professional, reliable, and paid close attention to detail. The quality of the workmanship really shows, and the finished bathroom turned out great. We truly appreciate the time and effort they put into making sure everything was done correctly. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor who takes pride in their work and does things the right way. Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Some sump pumps are powered by water rather than electricity. Water-powered sump pumps generally use one gallon of city water to pump out two gallons of water from its basin. Therefore, if you're looking at a potential 10,000-gallon flood, your sump pump will need to use 5,000 gallons of city water to prevent it.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

A sump pump is one of the most common ways to get excess moisture out of your home, but it’s not the only way. If your home doesn't have a sump pump, other options to get excess water out of the basement include trash pumps, submersible pumps, service pumps, and hand-crank pumps. However, it’s worth calling a pro in to assess your situation and potentially install a sump pump for you.

DIY is possible for basic setups. Professional installation ensures proper drainage and reliability.

Statistics show that 98% of basements will experience some form of water damage over time. However, that doesn’t mean all basements will experience severe flooding. The best way to prevent a water-damaged basement is to keep up with home maintenance and have proper drainage installed outside your home to direct water away from the foundation. You can also consider building a flood wall around the house if you live in a flood-prone area.
