"I recently had artificial turf installed in my back yard by Intelliturf. It looks amazing!! Because of very large trees and very little sun I could never have grass in my back yard. The turf is perfect, very easy to maintain. Jeff and his crew were professional, hardworking and always pleasant."

Small jobs welcome

I have been working in the tree business for a little over 3 years..been climbing for 2. I worked under a 25+ year climber for most of that time and I have done everything from hazardous tree removal, storm damage, preventative tree maintenance, to simple prune, shape, and thins. I’ve done many beautiful landscape design/installs, stone walls, patios and walkways as well. I reside in Swanton Vermont and have been working around the Franklin, Chittenden, Addison county area, but will make the drive just about anywhere depending on the severity of your need's. I am fully insured don’t hesitate to call, text pictures of your trees/landscaping needs or leave me a message I’m happy to help. I assure you an honest and fair quote, and safe, quality rope work!

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Monkey grass isn’t too picky when it comes to light conditions: It needs sun but prefers partial shade. While it can tolerate full sun, it thrives in environments with partial shade (around four to six hours of sunlight per day). The black mondo grass variety is the most tolerant of heat from direct sunlight.

Yes, weeds can still grow in decomposed granite. If properly compacted, it can act as a good weed suppressant, meaning you’ll only pull weeds occasionally. But no ground cover is completely weed-proof. To further prevent weeds, you can try spraying your decomposed granite with distilled white vinegar.

If you live in an area with heavy rain or you like the idea of an extra layer of cushion under your feet, you may want to consider adding additional layers under your grass. There are pads that are purely for comfort and ones that can help accelerate drainage for those heavy rains.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.
