I provided quality work. From carpentry to plumbing/electrical. I grew up on a dairy farm and had to learn it all!

"Sam was very friendly and went right to work. He also didn’t mind my dogs."

"He sprayed a brown inferior product on my lovely gray aged cedar shingled roof ruining the entire look of my gray cedar paneled home. His men walked on my roof breaking aged shingles though had promised would not do so. Brought commercial lift for man to use on 1 story house which cost way more than necessary and dug up driveway and grass. Lied about product and application and when called on it during application by homeowner ignored and continued with HIS way with disasterous results to homeowner's home. Unreliable and argumentative and looking for cheapest way to do job not homeowner's wishes. Don't ever use him as painter."

"Ryan signed a contract, took deposit money, lied about ordering the materials, finally ordered part of what was needed, repeatedly failed to show up as promised, did spend three hours one time only, on some prep work, always responded to phone calls, text messages and emails, but never followed through on the assurances he offered in response, and failed to return as of this posting any of the deposit per our written and signed contract."

Exterior Painting questions, answered by experts

The type of paint and finish you choose impacts the overall cost of your painting project. Some of the most common types of paint include:

  • Primer: $10–$20 per gallon

  • Flat or matte finish: $10–$70 per gallon

  • Eggshell or satin finish: $12–$72 per gallon

  • Semi-gloss finish: $14–$74 per gallon

  • High-gloss finish: $16–$76 per gallon

Yes, you can paint stone on the exterior of a house. It’s important to properly prep the stone by cleaning off dirt and debris. You’ll want to apply at least two coats of paint to get the most even and complete coverage. Any pinholes or missed spots, however small, can allow moisture to get into the masonry and potentially cause the paint to blister and peel from the stone.

Yes, using oil-based paints is an effective way to paint new metal awnings or update old ones. However, with the wide variety of pre-made kits available now, you might consider just upgrading or purchasing the color of metal awnings you wish instead of painting.

If your old awnings are still in good shape, painting might make sense. As an added bonus, painting an aluminum awning may also help prevent corrosion.

If the tiles are undamaged and in good condition, painting can be a safe method of encapsulating them, but it is important first to evaluate the state of the tiles before proceeding. If the tiles are deteriorating, damaged, or already loose, simply painting over them fails to address the underlying issues that can cause asbestos exposure. It is recommended to consult asbestos abatement experts in such situations to identify the best way to safely manage or remove the asbestos-containing materials. During the painting process, it is crucial to adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to reduce the potential health risks associated with asbestos exposure.

You can paint over plaster, but repair any damage to the plaster first, or the paint will crack and bubble. You should also prepare the surface of the plaster to accept paint, which gives your paint job the best chance of looking good and lasting a long time. Before applying the color you want, apply a coat or two of primer. Additionally, use latex paint, and choose a latex paint with a satin finish for areas with dampness, like bathrooms.
