"I purchased a deal to power wash the house for $199. I received a confirmation email from the company that they would be scheduling appointments within two weeks. I was going on vacation for a week, so I planned on calling them when I got back. However, they never waited for me to schedule the appointment. They arrived in an unmarked van and started pulling equipment out, which concerned my neighbors since they knew I was away. They notified me and the police, who came to the house to question them. When the police called back to say they were washing the house, I put two and two together. I know they washed the back, because the there were soggy items by the windows I had left open on the second floor. However, I bought the coupon specifically for an area on the front of the house, and they didn't even do that part. When I got home a week later there was a message on my phone telling me "we are outside washing your house". I never talked to them directly.
UPDATE: After posting this comment, I emailed the company and complained. They told me due to a "data entry error" they scheduled the cleaning without consulting me. They agreed to come back and clean the area on the front of the house for which I had originally purchased the coupon. This time they did email me to let me know they were coming, arrived when they said they would and cleaned the requested area in less than an hour.
I was impressed by how quickly they responded to the complaint. Mistakes are going to be made, but how they are handled definitely makes or breaks your service reputation. I have adjusted my grades accordingly."
