"Owen and his crew recently completed a big project for us and we couldn't be more pleased. They replaced a number of windows and a door in our old house and the results are fantastic. The guys were friendly and easy to work with. They took care of our home, tidying up each day before they left, and did quality work every step of the way. If you have a home project that you need done right, I highly recommend you check out O.C. Builders, LLC; you won't be disappointed."

"They have finished off a large picture in my living room, a different job was a new window in my son's bedroom, third time they did exterior painting and gutters. He is going to start working on my shop in the backyard and will do all the carpentry work on it starting out."

Hi there, I’m a hard working carpenter in the Lakes Region. I have knowledge and skills in many building areas; framing, siding, flooring, interior/exterior finish work, ICF (insulated concrete forms), cabinetry, custom builds (tables, benches, sheds, etc.), even hardscaping and landscaping experience. I built my own house (ICF structure’d) from the footers all the way to finish. I am dedicated, see projects through to customer satisfaction, love challenges and will always beat them. I have a strong attention to detail and meticulous about doing things correctly safely and beautifully.

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible, but professional assembly ensures proper alignment, stability, and cable management.

Options include stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets, each offering varying levels of personalization and cost.

The time it takes to install new cabinets depends on the scope of the project. For a kitchen installation, you can expect the process to take anywhere from 2-5 days for a standard layout up to a couple of weeks for more complex projects, depending on the number of cabinets and the installation space. For a smaller project, such as installing cabinets in a bathroom, you can expect the work to take a week or less. Your cabinet installation expert will be able to provide you with a realistic timeframe.

Walls in good condition with an even surface should be fine for frameless cabinet installation. Older, uneven, or warped walls could create problems. Your studs and their spacing are especially important, since frameless cabinets rely so much on wall attachments. Call in a professional installer for a consultation if you aren’t sure.

Using a shim or another type of self-leveling feet on the bottom edge of your cabinet bases will help to level them out if you’re installing them on a less-than-level surface. To make this process easier, you can add your shims before attaching the bases to your cabinets while they’re still light and easy to move around.
