"During the heat dome days we found out our air conditioning needed recharging. They insisted on up front payment (first red flag) then quoted over $800 to refill the units (2). They did not look for nor try to fix the leak but instead gave me a proposal over $3,000 to come back and fix the unit(1). I used them because they were the ones who could come the quickest. "Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Usually, ductwork is not included when you purchase a new HVAC system; it needs to be purchased separately. As far as installation, you’d need to speak with your local duct installer or HVAC technician directly to learn what their services include, but having your entire ductwork system replaced is likely to be more expensive than simply having your new AC unit installed without ductwork replacement.

The simplest indicator is how long it’s been since your last tune-up. You should schedule an annual AC tune-up each spring. Beyond that, there are multiple signs that your AC needs a quick check by a professional. When using an AC leak sealant, keep in mind that it’s only a temporary solution, so you’ll still need to hire a pro to install a replacement part as soon as possible.

You should service your AC at least once per year, in the spring, and twice per year if your unit is 10 years or older. As your unit ages, more maintenance can catch problems early and help the system reach its full lifespan potential, usually 15 years.
