Customers say: Quick response

"From the earliest moment of engagement to the successful finish, North Country awning, its owner and his associates offered uparallelled commitment to both quality of work and adherence to time and cost commitments. The awning is gorgeous, and it has been installed with features we simply didn't have on our first awning."

Emergency services offered

"We were visited by Bob from Vista who did a great job working with us on what needed to be completed and price negotiation.  This was certainly a package deal with windows/siding/tile work and masonry all being done to the home.  Before the work started we also met with Brian who had some great recommendations on siding style and tile patterns.  He mentioned he would have his "A" Team working on the job and overseeing the project.
The siding and windows took only two days to complete and the results are outstanding.  The "A" Team certainly lived up to it's reputation and had to battle 90+ degree to complete the job.  The tile in the breezeway looks terrific as well as the masonry work on the front steps and the new awning.  We've had quite a few compliments on the home.
As with all large scale projects there are speed bumps along the way, but everything we requested to be modified or adjusted was addressed in a timely manner.  Overall, it was excellent work.

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Awnings offer a variety of materials to choose from, each of which has its own benefits. Cotton is a lower-cost option that’s also more eco-friendly because it’s made from natural materials, while acrylic-coated polyester and vinyl offer better durability against harsh weather. Fiberglass and metal are also resilient to weather, although metal can be vulnerable to corrosion without protective sealant. Ultimately, you’ll need to consider your climate and your budget in deciding the best material for your awning.

Acrylic, polyester, and vinyl are common options. Choose based on durability, UV resistance, and style.

Yes, you can replace just the fabric on an awning without having to replace the entire awning frame and hardware. This process will take a professional about one to two hours. If you want to DIY, it could take longer, especially for large or retractable awnings. Replacing the fabric on an awning can improve the look of your home and help naturally cool your interior and exterior spaces.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.

It depends on how you’ll use it. Both awnings and pergolas create shelter in outdoor areas, but pergolas have grid-style roofs, which are more open than awnings and not as effective at blocking out UV rays and precipitation. Also, pergolas are permanent structures, so you can’t put them away when you aren’t using them (unlike retractable awnings).
