We offer clearing , grading, dig footers, house pads, driveways and dig water lines and electric lines. Professional work and honest operators.

"Job not completed. They put my driveway going straight up the hill. No switchbacks. The only way to get up to camper pad was to use 4 wheel drive. The road is totally washed out. They did not fix it as promised. Then they put my camper pad below my septic. I did supply them with all septic info from the health department. After having a meeting with them, they did put in another pad above septic. I continued to speak of my concern with the driveway many times, and they said they would address it. They cleared the path for power lines but left 2 trees in the way. They have not returned to remove them or fix my washed-out driveway. I am so disappointed in how I have been taken advantage of."

"I hired Marathon Movers and Construction, managed by Williams Stewart, for a home improvement project, and my experience was profoundly disappointing. Mr. Stewart demonstrated a startling lack of skill and competence throughout. From the start, he admitted to lying about his ability to do the work, leading to numerous blunders: Incorrect Paint: Used the wrong type in several areas, needing extensive correction. Drywall Errors: Applied excessive mud, causing cracking. Unnecessary Work: Filled holes I didn’t request and didn’t paint over them. Poor Preparation: Neglected taping, causing splatters and spilled stains on my stairs. Tool Incompetence: Struggled with a circular saw, cutting carpet and trim incorrectly. General Negligence: He unplugged my freezer, causing the loss of 50 lbs of food. Missed Deadlines: Worked slowly, missing deadlines and causing significant losses. Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall.
