"The first engineer plan I received was on letter size paper as a PDF with blurry letters and numbers. No one could read it, not even with a magnifying glass. It did not meet the Montgomery County Building Permit inspection. IThe engineer explained everything well when he came to the house but did not provide a plan that met the requirements of Montgomery county. Because I lived far away I had to send my check US Postal mail and wait for the plan to be emailed to me which had me worried about whether I would be scammed. I offered to come to the engineer with the check but he turned me down. I had to have 3rd party conference call to get things going right."

It’s possible to drill into an LVL beam, but you should always avoid it. LVL beams are major structural components of your home, and drilling into them can weaken them and lead to cracking over time.
