On the day of installation, Guy's team came out and completed the job surprisingly quickly and relatively cleanly, considering all the trench digging. Guy came back later that week to go over the system with me, making any adjustments that were needed and making sure I was satisfied with the work. He also provided a very detailed watering schedule (month-by-month and zone-by-zone), and helped program the schedule for me. I appreciated the detail he took for that aspect, which may be considered to be outside the actual installation. For instance, given the composition of the soil in my area, he set up my system to do a few shorter passes overnight rather than one, long single pass so the water would be better absorbed by the soil. It has now been a few weeks and the system is working well. I would recommend Dallas Landscape and Irrigation, especially if you value a system that is well-designed to suit the needs of your specific lawn and landscaping.

We came back from a trip especially to be home for the mulch job.and quot; The fellow said, and quot;Well, I have too many people to call.and quot; FAUX PAS!? Not great business acumen. Rescheduled day, and the crew arrived with the big truck full of mulch. The 3 man crew was EXCELLENT. The lead guy is Sean, who is a superb worker and someone who really knows his stuff. He directed the other 2 (Chad and Vincent) and in a day and a half, they had the mulch placed on our very steep hill (front yard is very steep and is a large area...planted with many bushes and trees) and a short uphill planted area behind the house). We never saw the estimator again, but have no complaints whatsoever about the crew. We had a huge rainstorm the night that the majority of the hill was mulched and it stayed on the hill, with only a couple of areas near the outlets of our drains and gutters. The fellows returned the morning after to finish the job (maybe 4 hours worth of work) and put rocks where the gutters and drains emit water. GREAT JOB BY SEAN AND CREW! The excavation began and was complete in 2-3 days. Gravel of varying sizes and perforated PVC pipe was delivered, as well as 12 pallets of pavers and support stones. We had selected the color when we signed the contract for the job. Once the excavation was done the hole was draped with a black thick cloth and gravel(s) installed in the hole (up to 2 ft. deep for the area with the drainage problem...Bill shot the elevations using surveying type equipment). The laying of the pavers was one of the fun things to watch as the small \"cobblestones\" fit tightly and look great, but do allow all water to percolate under ground and out of the area to drains placed in our front hill. The path then continued around the entire front of our house, where it was in a shallower, but well-prepared hole which had gravel and basecoarse in it. The effect of this paving system is stunning. Upon Bill's recommendation, approx. 8 large oak trees were removed from our front hill (steep, appx. 40 deg. angle) which would open up areas to plant and also give our large front porch the benefit of a lot more sun and sky. Next phase was to clear the brush and my own poor attempts at planting flowers and shrubs, and the new plants arrived. We had hundreds of bushes and plants, plus labor to plant them made up $15-18,000 of our budget for the job. The plants arrived in good condition, and the holes (all dug into the NRV yellow clay with ample \"Radford Potato\" sized river rocks in every shovelfull, were amended with manure and plant food. We had a huge amount of mulch put down, and the place looks fantastic. We fed Miracle Gro on everything for 2 weeks, and now the slow release plant food is \"on the job\".and was added to the amended soil at planting time. We have soaker hoses and regualr large sprinklers and are watering diligently to give the plants a good start (especially considering this summer's heat). We would DEFINITELY use GREEN ACRES, LLC. again (in fact, I'm dreaming of a cascading water feature...someday). Bill has over 20 years experience doing this, and it's obvious when you talk to him, when he presents a suggested plan for the property, and the execution of what he says will be done, IS DONE, and is done beautifully. We are very pleased and it WAS a DRAMATIC TRANSFORMATION of our \"ugly stepsister\" home into one of the prettiest yards in the area."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/va/elliston/green-acres-llc-reviews-463074.htm"},"position":4}]}

"We hired Timesavers Landscaping to build a tiered stone edge wall for our front yard flower garden & add sod to the side yard. They finished today & the results are fantastic!! Eric took the time to talk about the design & any potential drainage issues given our sloped grade on one side. With Eric’s input, & a few pictures of what we wanted, we had a clear plan moving forward. The team, Eric, Michael, Tyler & their workers, communicated clearly throughout the process, were professional, easy to work with, and delivered exactly what they promised at a fair price. Their craftsmanship is excellent, and the project went smoothly from start to finish. We did have one issue with the stone. The big box store was selling defective stone so, at the last minute, Eric found different stone. What he found was even better & not that much more expensive. This was all easily resolved within 2 days. I would absolutely hire them again (we have plans for the back yard) and highly recommend their work!"

FAQs for plant watering projects in Radford, VA
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
