Had wall trim and shadow boxing placed in two rooms and was done by the teams carpenter with great detail. The painting team afterwords gave great attention to detail with the fine painting required.
Also had the garage painted and 3 coats were applied to get the best results (and paint was left over). The floor was also painted and sealed with an epoxy coating and I still get comments regularly from neighbors about how much they like how it looks. Car oils and other chemicals really do just wipe up with a paper towel. I highly recommend JC Custom Painting and Ed (owner and team lead). I will be using them again soon for more projects around the house."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/va/woodbridge/jc-custom-painting-llc-reviews-7924991.htm"},"position":4},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"JC CLOSETS INC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"VA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Carl C."},"reviewBody":"This is the third time we used JC Closets. We did a good job getting it ready for them, they had no trash to throw away, just a good cleaning. They sent a crew of 4 ladies, dressed professionally, and on time. I showed them the house and left. When I went back to the house, it had a nice, clean odor when I opened the door. Unfortunately, the first thing I checked was the hall closet. I guess they forgot it because there was dust all on the top shelf, and the floor had not been cleaned at all...dust all in the corners. The other place that was forgotten was built in shelves in the master bedroom, only one shelf was dusted, but all the dust was in a pile, the other shelves had not been dusted and were dirty, it looks like the person cleaning may have been distracted and then forgotten about finishing them. Chris had told me he would probably be there at some point, but I have no idea if he went over there or not.
Other than those two incidents the house looked great. All appliances were cleaned inside and out, drawers cleaned and bathrooms done. There is tile in the bathroom shower, and that was not cleaned to what I was hoping, but I could tell an attempt was made. I wrote Chris an email about the shelves and closet, and also attached a picture for him. I am disappointed that he never wrote me back. Not looking for compensation, but a response would have been nice, or even just an email asking how they did.

This is an outstanding painting company and I am glad I chose them to paint my house. They did an excellent job. They started and finished when they said they would. They patched and painted 4 bedrooms/2 baths, family room, kitchen/dining, closets, ceilings, doors and trim. The painters cleaned up after themselves. Communication was easy with the owner and office staff. I would use this company again.
Great work, good customer service. Used for multiple jobs, microwave install and fixed woodwork in master bedroom closet.
They arrived at the agreed-upon time, discussed what I needed, measured the space, and discussed alternatives with me. After reviewing the alternatives, he drew up some suggestions and I chose one within my desires and budget. The closet was manufactured to-order and a time set for...
Fred, the owner, was very responsive. Taylor arrived the next day and performed a visual inspection and an air test that indicated a high level of undesirable mold spores in the master bedroom closet. The mold remediation team performed their duties in an outstanding and efficient manner. A...
Painted entire home interior, not the closets (our choice), with excellent quality and skill. Recommended a great paint for our needs. Sanded walls first for best results and then applied two coats of paint. The finished product was fantastic! Scrubbable walls, even painting without streeks,...

Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.
The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.
You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.
Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:
A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.
A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.
A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.
Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
