Installing a flagpole can improve your home’s curb appeal, so it will often have a modest positive impact on your property value. You’ll see a much larger bump in property value if you install a custom wooden flagpole than you would if you install a standard aluminum pole. The entire appraisal process takes from seven to 10 days. This timeline accounts for the many steps of the appraisal process, including the post-inspection report completed by the appraiser.

Home appraisal services include the following tasks:

  • Inspect home interior and exterior

  • Evaluate materials, features, fixtures, and renovations

  • Review comparable properties

  • Write an appraisal report

Around 1-2 weeks, including inspection and reporting time for an official evaluation.

Ideally, you’d never pay more than the appraised value for a home, but there are some instances where it makes sense to do so. For example, if your current living arrangements are no longer viable and you need a place to move into quickly, paying more than the appraised value might be in your best interest to secure a new home. An FHA appraisal is valid for 180 days from the effective date of the report. In some cases, you can have the appraisal recertified if you make your request before the original expires so that you still may obtain an FHA loan. If approved, your appraisal update is valid for one year.
