"I was so impressed with Wilber and his employees that in addition to painting our deck, I also hired him to pressure wash our deck and fence, replace the lattice on our pergola, as well as perform some other minor wood work. His responsiveness, quality of work and price were all excellent and would be hard to match. I have already referred him to several others in our neighborhood and look forward to hiring him again in the future!"

Dave and his crew did an outstanding job.

He was very punctual to return my request for services. Very patiently answered all of my questions and concerns. Stained decks look great. Lawn and gardens look super. He knows his business. Highly recommended!  Will use him and his team again on future projects.

"Randy was very responsive.  He returned calls promptly and was flexible in scheduling a time.  He helped us to sort through options and worked hard to remove the leaves that were frozen to the gutters.  We plan to use him for other repairs that we need.

"I would highly recommend this company. They did an excellent job removing the old exterior trim paint, painting exterior trim and doors, cleaning and repainting my deck and shutters. The exterior of my house now looks beautiful!"

"I cannot express in words how impressed we are with Lisa.  She went FAR, FAR beyond anything in the contract.  She helped us chose colors, worked around our "stuff" when she had to, without one complaint, handled everything without having to "bother" us.  Aside from doing what the contract stated, she fixed things that I didn't even know needed fixing.  When my wife and I would go out and see how things were going, she's stop and talk to us, sharing wisdom about so many things aside from just her being a "house painter."  This woman has seen, experienced, and done an incredible amount of things that can only benefit those who work with her and get to know her.  All this, with a quote much lower than we expected.  CLONE LISA.  Obviously, we HIGHLY recommend Lisa on anything she feels qualified to quote on, and we look forward to working more with her in the future.  THANKS LISA!

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Wooden decks benefit from painting as it helps to keep them watertight. Quality pool deck paints also help make the surface less slippery and less likely to gather mold and mildew or prematurely crack.

Painted decks typically require a new coat about once every ten years. In between new coats, it's best to maintain your deck by regularly removing debris, washing it down with non-abrasive cleaners, and staying ahead of structural issues, such as loose boards and rotting wood. In some cases, painting a small section of your deck affected by damage or the sun can lower your costs and workload.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.
