You can remove your gutters before painting, but it's rarely required. That’s because these types of finishes highlight this proportionally smaller exterior home feature, adding both contrast and layers of texture to the overall facade. Other types of finishes aren’t off limits, but you’ll have more success by choosing one that provides a nice sheen.
