My husband and I have been using Four Sales to help us downsize. So far, we've sent three batches of items to Pete's Auction Service in Madison, VA. Four Sales' Daniel Sanders, Pete, and Pete's auction staff have been a tremendous help to us. We'll always be appreciative and will actually miss these folks when our downsizing is complete!

All I can say is WOW!! These guys are nothing less than awesome!!!! I had to take care of cleaning out my Aunt's personal belongings and, being long distance, was so happy that there's a company out there like Four Sales to complete the task. They were professional, very knowledgeable about values, prompt and very detailed as to how it all takes place. In one day, we were able to label items that could be auctioned, other belongings placed for charitable giving, and then the junk truck came to empty the rest. We were at our wit's end trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff in Dad's house. Contacted Four Sales, and they led us through the process they use to allow us to keep our sanity. I am actually surprised at the sales they were able to make. Four Sales is a very professional and ethical company. I would use them again without hesitation, and totally recommend them.

I'm glad that everyone raves about this company and has great things to say. My realtor (who has been in real estate for over 40 years), recommended this company to assist with my needs. My father passed away and I needed help with liquidating his estate to put the home on the market. This review is strictly for the person I dealt with, not the company. The person I spoke to (Mark) spoke highly about the company and stated that 80% of the home can be emptied and I had high hopes. An appointment was set up so he could do a walk through, and that's where things ended. Mark rushed through the home in less than 10 minutes and decided it wouldn't be "beneficial" because it wasn't enough stuff. The house had 30 years worth of "stuff" including antique furniture, a plethora of power tools, flat screen TVs, coins, and electronics. The way it was said sounded very snobbish and I got the vibe that he had another agenda. I wasn't impressed, and got bids from 5 other estate companies.

Perfection. The crew arrived right on time. They were very professional and completely focused. In less than 10 hours, all three condos were emptied, down to the last paperclip. I received a detailed accounting for the auction, and the final amount was far more than I had anticipated. Four Sales gets Five Stars in my book.

We used his tips to make our move seamless. He also recommended a great moving company that was also wonderful. Such an easy move and well organized moving experience because of the professionalism of this team. You won't be disappointed.

They came and took the stuff from us we didn't have to deal with the people and the stuff in the house, Well I don't think we heard from them immediately it was kind of a month or so into the process going well, they didn't really keep as in touch as maybe could have.

Everything went smoothly. Movers removed everything from our house in early May and all items were sold at auction by Four Sales by end of June.

We had a contract with Four Sales to have items auctioned off. We contacted them about a month and a half before we were to be out of the house. Asked about selling our goods. We went though each and every room of the house with a representative from the company explaining in detail what would and would not be sold. He then suggested we have the moving company remove the items we did not want to sell, so that he would be able to conduct the sale without having to block off furniture and items that were not to be sold. We took his advice, asked the moving company to come in early, with the additional cost of having our items in storage with the moving company. After 2 weeks of packing and boxing our items, we called the gentleman and asked that he prepare the house for the sale. Reluctantly, he showed up, and abruptly told us (with 1 week and 3 days until we had to be out of the house) that he would not be able to sell our items. His excuse - not enough items to warrant a sale. The house was still 3/4 furnished, as we were selling most of the large furniture and other personal items. We explained that we went over the items room by room with him, and he gave us assurances that, Four Sales would be handling our estate sale. And although he did offer to get rid of our furniture through a mix of auction and donation, which, again, was not what we had been promised. Thanks to that very "reasonable and lucrative" new deal we found ourselves having to find a new provider in the week and a half left - this was a stress-test, which I would not wish on anybody. I would highly recommend anyone looking to have an estate sale done, consider another company, OR VERY LEAST get EVERYTHING in WRITING from the first day you meet with any representative from this company. However, we were VERY lucky to find iStuff Sellers ,Darren came in and performed the sale with wonderful precision, dedication and professionalism that was severely lacking from Four sales. Giving us the happy ending to our home estate sale, we so desperately needed.

Very easy to deal with and everything occurred how and when Daniel said it would. He even helped us find the right mover for us.

From the very first interaction, I was impressed with the professionalism of this organization. Before contracting with them, I visited one of their estate sales, and I was very impressed with how organized everything was, and the friendly knowledgeable staff who were working the sale. Things were priced fairly. The items with which I have a more intimate knowledge of value, were priced to generate the greatest return for the seller, but again, were fair. They knew values and were not "giving things away", but were also pricing it so that it would sell, which of course is the goal. In my case, the value of the items in the estate did not warrant a sale, as the costs of doing the sale would have been greater than the revenue generated. Daniel at Four Sales met with me and reviewed everything at length, before advising that he felt that the estate would best served by selling the few valuable things at auction, donating what would be acceptable to the various charities, and then getting rid of the remainder by using a trash hauling service. I think we spent nearly an hour reviewing the options, with him calculating what he felt would be the best return for me as the representative of the estate. Although it was not an easy day, I can't imagine what it would have been like without Daniel's amazing crew. Everyone worked in tandem to get everything done, and to a person, they were thoughtful, respectful, good-natured, polite and well mannered. Though it was a long and taxing day, they all made it much less stressful. Daniel also referred me to a couple of companies that he recommended to do repair work on the home before it went up for sale. I ended up using one of the companies, and they were also a great help. Were I ever in the position to need these kinds of services again, I would not shop around. I would call Four Sales.

We explained that we did not want people traipsing through our home while we still lived in it. We wanted wider notoriety for the sale than just locals traveling (20 miles from DC) from the suburbs. He still said he thought this was the best way, to sell in our home. We decided to go with an auction house that could advertise world-wide on the web, and also sell locally by auction and consignment shop. The owner of this business would not consider only a partial sale of estate. He wanted access to sell entire contents. Some of our stuff was worth getting wider notoriety for its sale, some stuff was not. We decided not to use Four Sales.

The estate sale went superbly even though we were surprised at some of the items that didn't sell. However, Four Sales did an excellent job of advertising the sale because we made a very positive revenue from the sale to cover all of our expenses and have money leftover. More importantly, Four Sales arranged for items that didn't sell to be donated and those that could not be donated Four Sales arranged for 123 Junk to pick them up and haul them away. When we returned to the house, it was empty of all items that were not conveying to the new owners, thus facilitating the whole-house cleaning on Monday. This made our move so much easier and saved us at least two weeks worth of our time. I would definitely use them again!! This was probably one of the most challenging sales for the company because we were conveying several items to the new owners and thus Four Sales had to work around those items and ensure the items we wanted sold, were sold. Dos and Don'ts - Don't assume that something won't be sold. If it doesn't have a "not for sale" sign, it can be sold. The biggest Dos are as follows; 1) work closely and continuously with the company and the on-site team. 2) ensure everything for sale is readily accessible. 3) Ensure items, no matter what they are, that are Not For Sale (NFS) have a big sign on them. We were surprised by some things that sold that we hadn't intended to sell but had not marked as NFS. Finally, Four Sales provided an itemized list of all the items that sold and the price paid thus ensuring we had full accountability.

I am not sure how my very old mother felt that this went for her, but as the daughter trying to look over her affairs and advise her about the work, I was not pleased. The contract said that there would be photos taken of the items; but they were provided for only some of the items - and none of the jewelry. The jewelry went first, and there was no evidence that the auctions were fair; no evidence of when the auctions were taking place, etc. Since the company also runs an auction, it is unclear that the best price was obtained. In fact, I was appauled by some of the low prices. I'm sure my mother wanted to know how much things she had were worth, and that the company convinced her that the best way to find out was to sell the things. I never had a chance to buy the things give the low, low prices and was dismayed by the process.

The rep was upfront and told us that we were not leaving enough for an estate sale.

From the initial meeting to define the task to a second meeting when we decided to do an auction on their site rather than our prior plan for an onsite "Estate Sale" we were impressed with the effortless professionalism of the Four Sales Team. Rely on it, they know what is best for you and they will do it!. They are number one on Angie's list because they deserve to be there. Before we got together we wasted our time, effort and money on a dumpster to get rid of stuff before the estate sale-big mistake. Select austion, pick a date, sign the contract and "get out of the way". Hire Four Sales to do an auction on their site and clean out the rest either to donation or trash. They are professionals doing the work and providing timely documentation including checks from auction sales and donation price-outs for the taxes. Do not wait until the last minute to remove what you do not want Four Sales to handle and, while it will be hard, go to a movie or something else to avoid watching it all go, it ain't worth the stress avoiding last minute decisions about keeping things........my son took the on site time to have a family member there, my daughter and I visited my wife in her retired person community.......

Enormous crowds each day. Almost everything sold and remaining pieces taken to Goodwill. Excellent service throughout and all issues handled smoothly. A truly no strain operation for us and timed to just days before closing the house sale and moving. Can't say enough good things about their efforts and responsiveness.

Very pleased with Four Sales and have already recommended them to others. Exceeded expectations in sales generated during the 3-day sale. When faced with needing to dispose of the contents of a home, everyone?s circumstances may be different. There are several options, and some options may better fit individual circumstances. For most, you may only have to do this once or maybe twice in your lifetime. We explored the following options (not necessarily all from Four Sales and there are additional options): 1. Have someone just come and buy everything, back up a truck, clean out the house and you are done. 2. Send stuff to auction. They come and remove items that can be auctioned. You pay a fee for removal/transport of items to auction and they take a percentage of the sale. 3. Conduct an estate sale at the house. There are different fees depending on what services you want them to perform (trash removal, donation truck, etc.) in addition to a percentage of the sale. This will all depend on how much stuff you have and the amount of sales it will generate. We interviewed two different companies and went with Four Sales. Based on our circumstances they offered us the option of sending stuff to auction or having a sale at the house. We decided on the estate sale at the house because we were looking to move a lot of content and while a fair amount could have gone to auction, an awful lot of stuff would have likely remained. Basically they can try and sell pretty much anything in a sale at the house (you will be surprised at what sells and maybe puzzled by a few items that may not sell). They charge a percentage of the sale proceeds and have a minimum fee for a sale at the house. We found them to be very nice, professional and answered all our questions. They were very willing to work with us. They are very realistic in setting the expectations and although sometimes the owner can be a little direct (not in a bad way), they just want to make sure you understand how they operate, which is something they do very well. While we did most of the initial de-cluttering, removal of personal items and removal of trash, they can also do this for you. They came and sorted and set-up everything, which was not a small task given how much stuff we had with limited space. They have a large client list and based on the traffic we had, they get folks there. In addition to their lists/followers, they advertise on various sites and do some social media to get people there. They do not rely on posting signs in the neighborhood like a yard sale. Overall, while we did have some items left over, they did get rid of an awful lot and the sale generated more than they originally projected (and substantially more than we would have thought). They can come and assess what you have and explain the options that make sense. No pressure at all. Regardless of what you decide, they can take care of everything including cleaning everything out of the house when they are done. There is very little you need to do, if you so choose. Estate sales may not be for everyone and can be stressful since you are trusting someone to sell/dispose of items while getting the maximum return. There may be compromises and you have to remind yourself often during the process of the actual goal you wish to achieve. Having managed businesses and major projects as part of my professional career, needing to be detail oriented, it is nice to know that these are folks you can trust with your home, your possessions, and that they will get the job done.

Four Sales setup and conducted a three day estate sale at our parent' house. As our parents lived there for over 50 years, it was a very big job. Four Sales contract stated that they would be responsible for setting up prior to the sale, conducting the sale and removing all items from the house once the sale is finished; items that didn't sell would be donated or taken to dump depending on the item. The Four Sales team arrived one morning and set up the entire contents of the house in a single day providing their own tables and linens for display purposes. The sale was conducted over a three day period and was hugely successful. After the sale, the emptied the entire house in a single afternoon as promised. Our goal was to try and sell as much as possible and leave the house ready to be sold and the Four Sales team did exactly that. The team from Four sales was extremely efficient and professional and highly recommend them to anyone looking to hold an estate sale.

It went even better than we hoped, and we had high expectations! We ended up netting nearly double our projected estimate because of the lengths they went to in photographing, displaying and promoting the items via a variety of channels. They then negotiated the final sale to a private buyer. We didn't have to lift a finger. At the end, we got a sizeable check.
