Zero problems and outstanding workmanship and material quality. Dean and Justin (son) are artisans working with Quartz and tile. Justin's idea on the backsplash tile layout was wonderful. Their pricing is in-line with several estimates I got from a local carpet, floor, and tile store in Roy Utah. I didn't go with them because their estimate did not include a sink, plumber, or backsplash and when that got included, the price was equivalent. The difference being I didn't know who would do the work. I met Dean and decided on the spot that he would do the work. He is a good and honest guy. You won't go wrong with him.

We are very happy with the end result. Dean and crew were very responsive. We had a box kitchen with island. He and his crew made sure we had room to install our stove and move our refrigerator out. Tight fit, but looks wonderful. Very attentive to detail and had recommendations for taking care of our new countertop. Also, installed sinks in kitchen and bathroom. We've received a lot compliments on our new countertops. Very happy.

Dean and his son were extremely professional. After a disappointing experience with the tile and granite people who where hired by the contractor when remodeling our newly purchased condo, I found Solid Surface on Angie's List. I've successfully used Angie's List many times before, but gave in to the contractor's claim that his people were just as good and cheaper. The "cheaper" work ended up being unsatisfactory, incomplete and more expensive. To finish the work that should have been originally done, I found Solid Surface on Angie's List and liked the reviews. I contacted Dean, who saw what was needed, made suggestions, agreed on a price which was very reasonable, and he and his son came on one day to do the sealing and then came again on to install the back splash. They were very careful to cover everything and clean up after themselves. They even did extra work to correct mistakes or sloppy work by the contractor's workers. I strongly recommend Solid Surface Creations for any tile or natural stone work that needs to be done around your home. You will not be disappointed!

Awesome! As usual Dean was very communicative and prompt. He had a beautiful remnant and got our quartz countertop and sink promptly installed. Dean is a true craftsman. He thinks of everything and offers tips and guidance along the way. We called him for the bathroom job because he and his team did such a spectacular job in our kitchen and dining room with the quartz counter tops there.

There is great difference between a laborer and a craftsman. Dean is the type of craftsman we had hoped to find when we joined Angies's list. He didn't just clean and seal the stone surfaces. He meticulously inspected each of our stones, identified areas that were insufficiently supported, educated us about the differences between the types of stone and the type of cleansing agents appropriate or inappropriate for each, emphasized some of the interesting and beautiful details in some of the stones, and in other ways rejuvenated and improved the condition of the many stone surfaces in our home. He and his son, Justin, were also very considerate of adjacent and nearby surfaces, protecting our cabinets, floors, etc. We could not be more pleased and appreciative of this experience.  Dean is by far the best craftsman and artist that I have found through Angie's List.

Dean and Justin were just fantastic. I had two bathroom countertops that were a mess. Solid Surface Creations-DCI jumped right in and the countertops look better than they did when we bought them. Dean explained how to take proper care of our granite.  
He really takes pride in his work. If you want to hire a professional than hire Solid Surface Creations-DCI you will be impressed with what they can do. Dean even helped me with a faucet issue I had and found the part# so I could get it replaced under warranty. That is what I call customer service. Thanks Dean and Justin!

From start to finish Dean was great. He came out and did a very thorough bid leaving nothing to chance. Showed us samples from which we selected a few possibilities. He told us all the pros and cons of each type of counter top material and we selected  Cambria Quartz in the Canterbury pattern. Dean sent us to his supplier so we could see a giant slab and get a feel for the real deal. Once we selected the stone Dean worked up the bid. He also bought for us a great 10 gauge German Stainless Steel 10 in deep  Blanco sink. We set up a start date but then due to a death in the family we had to postpone for two weeks. Dean was always pleasant to deal with and very, very thorough. He came to the house and did the demolition on the old counter tops. He removed all the oak trim around the bar and made a single piece that would just slide in. He had us empty the cabinets out so he could have unfettered access to the old counter top. He cleaned up very well after each visit. He fabricated the counter top backed by 3/4 inch plywood at his shop then when it came time to install he literally just slid them in. I was there! It was awesome to watch. Dean's motto should be "Perfection is Acceptable!" He thought of everything. He and his team set the sink. Dean even helped us buy the new cook top and contractor grade Delta faucet and picked everything up. There is only one seam in the whole project and it is nearly impossible to find. They are absolutely stunning!

My countertops were put in during the height of the market in 2006. The guy was in a hurry and did a sloppy job. He didn't place the seams of the granite with any support underneath the surface. The seem came undone and high started to lower on one side. The repair included bring up the side that was drooping with screws and support and then the fine detail of matching the colors of fill material. It was a great repair. Not a redo because I can't afford that cost at this time. But I am very happy with the work that my budget allowed. If I were able to replace the counter tops.....this for certain would be who I use. I would also refer them to anyone.
I know just because a contractor is on Angie's list there is still a potential for a bad outcome. But I have only been with Angie's list for 6 months and I have used the referrals from them at least 12 times in this short period. I have not been let down. I think they do a wonderful job. Solid Surface Creations....THANK YOU, again.

He simply did a wonderful job.  Careful analysis and then came up with a solution.  He even worked underneath the cabinets to brace the various parts of the granite better to try and mitigate things so it doesn't happen again.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.  In fact, I will use him again.

My fiance and I have used Dean four times.  On one large project, and three smaller ones. I'm not just positive he's the best counter-top person in the valley but I'm also positive he's the best contractor of any type that I've ever used. Dean is always on time, professional, and amazing at what he does.  He is always friendly and quick to schedule an appointment too.  

He did not do this service.  He agreed that my counters needed someone who would buff out, polish and seal.  He could have done this for more money and at another time.
I did not want him to come back.  I thought I was booking someone who would do the above service.  So I felt that it was a case of "Bait and Switch".
He Said Angie's list would refund the $ I paid.
I don't want to share this review now. In fairness to this company I need to do more research.

After moving into our new house, the existing side by side fridge died and we had purchase another french door style type whicah I had always wanted. While the space was plenty big enough to accommodate the new fridge, we were just sick to discover that because the doors were wider, they could not be fully opened without hitting the surrounding corners of the granite countertop!! In a bit of a panic, thinking we would have to do some major remodeling or take our fridge back, we called and left a message for Dean after finding him on Angie's List. He called us literally less than an hour later. We explained our problem to him, and while he said he would not be able to fix the problem right away, since he lived close to us, he would come and check out the issue later that evening. Amazing!!. He came and said that he could sand the corners of the granite down to a rounded corner with the granite still in place. He came to do the job within the next couple of days. He totally covered all of our cabinets and set up a huge vacuum out our kitchen window to minimize the tons of dust created when sanding granite. He went above and beyond to keep my home from being inundated with dust. He also repaired some chips around the built-in sink from what looked like pans being dropped which were basically undetectable when he finished. He also gave us a great tip for cleaning our stainless sinks with Barkeepers Friend (best stuff ever!!). We had him bid for cleaning/polishing/sealing all of the granite in our house and intend to use him for that job in the future. Very pleased to find such a professional, honest, hard working tradesman who takes such pride in his work.

While we thought he did a good job and I liked him, his costs seemed expensive. Scheduling was good with them.
