"We called Bath Fitters of Utah after getting quotes from several other places. The price was 40% less than the others, and the materials are excellent. John and Brayden showed up on time notwithstanding a big snow fall, then worked steady all day to remove our old tub, install the new tub and shower, clean up and leave everything perfect. They were great to work with, and we will absolutely recommend them to friends and family. John and Nancy, Millcreek"

"Great from the very start! Very professional. Felt I could really put my trust in them to do the job right. Matched a competitors price. Completed the job in one day! Cleaned everything up as if they were never there. Wonderful! Very friendly staff-sales people, office people and installers."

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The overflow drain and wastewater drain connect to the same main pipe to take water away from your bathtub. Your overflow drain is meant to prevent damage to your bathroom—especially the floor around your bathtub, where excess water can quickly create a mold or mildew problem.

The cost to replace a bathtub is $2,000 to $9,400. Whether you want to spruce up your bathroom or your existing bathtub is not functioning correctly, purchasing a new tub costs about $5,700 with installation. Prices depend on the type and size of the tub.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.
