Miguel & crew painted the entire exterior of my house, while repairing/replacing gutters, trim, siding, etc. I feel like I live in a castle now because it was so well done! Very professional & accommodating! (Also very quiet & clean up daily which is huge!) You may have to wait a bit to get started because he is extremely busy but I can promise, he is DEFINITELY worth waiting for!!"

"We had a simple plat process where we split one property into 2. We relied on A-1 to provide the service. Not only did it take 24 months to complete (yes you read that correctly), but we had to hound the team to get it done. Some of the delays were basic. Hays County had a checklist of requirements for electronic files, it took multiple rounds to get these corrected and added to the delay. That delay, because of price inflation, has cost me more than $12,000 in additional costs for septic components. Would not recommend, not even to my ex-wife."

"I worked with Andrew Bobst through a flood remediation process. And while he was extremely responsive & quick to come out to the house in the flood aftermath, the rest of the process was like pulling teeth. There was unclear communication about how long the dryers needed to run, promises of working with insurance, but to which I later became the middle man for payment. And most significantly, a tile that was ruined when the walls were taken out. I've spent 5 months trying to work with them to get them to replace this. And I've even offered to provide a replacement tile myself, if they'll just have someone come replace it. Unfortunately, despite countless followups, Andrew has not made the time to get this resolved. So I certainly won't be giving them my service again."

Once the project is complete, a local building inspector will conduct a final inspection to ensure that the retrofitting is up to code.

A home with proper earthquake retrofitting can sustain minimal damage in earthquakes of up to 7.0 magnitude, although risks are higher based on how close and deep the earthquake is. A home closer to the earthquake epicenter will sustain greater damage, especially if the earthquake is closer to the surface of the Earth, but retrofitting can help minimize the risk of injuries.

Some cities or states may require you to have an earthquake gas shut-off valve. Your insurance provider may also have requirements for installing this valve. Even if you don’t have to have one by law, it’s wise to have a natural gas plumber install one anyway. These devices can be lifesaving and prevent fires or explosions in the event of a gas leak.

Grounding is a great first step to prevent electrical shock, but you can take it further with GFCI outlets and AFCIs (arc fault circuit interrupters). In particular, AFCIs help protect against the type of electrical arcs that cause fires, like if a mouse chews on a wire or your laptop starts overheating at the wall. These are required in some areas of your home.
