"We received the equipment and it was in perfect condition. We installed the security system ourselves. Frontpoint has an app that you can follow and coordinate with your system, including testing the alarms. It was fairly painless. We had to call Customer Support to help with a window breakage sensor and the question was answered correctly and helpfully."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"I wasn’t sure what needed to be done at first, I thought there might be some serious repairs required because it had been a long time since any maintenance was done. Sam and his team were veryyyyyy incredibly professional and took the time to thoroughly inspect everything and explain the situation clearly. They didn’t try to upsell me or push unnecessary work, which I really appreciated. It turned out that all my chimney needed was a good cleaning, and they got it done efficiently and left everything neat and tidy. Their honesty, transparency, and quality service really stood out, and I feel confident knowing my chimney is in good shape now. Thanks a lot!!!"

"

I came home to find a very large tree had split at the trunk and fall through my roof.  Immediately I called my insurance company and they advised me they would send an adjuster out within 48 hours.  2 days I was going to have to live with this tree in my house.  I was not happy.

As luck would have it Brad Carmon who lives in my neighborhood was driving by and stopped after seeing the tree, he was very concerned for everyone and asked if there was anything I needed. I thanked him and he informed me that he was a general contractor that actually specialized in roofing and insurance claims and would be happy to help me through this catastrophe.

Normally I would be skeptical of this type of approach but Brad was very kind and concerned. When I advised him of the 48 hour window I was given he was not pleased with that and advised me he could have that tree off the house and a tarp on the roof that evening.  I agreed and  just like he said within the hour there were two very nice gentleman there cutting the tree while Brad documented everything for the insurance.  After helping the other two gentlemen with the tree he set up the tarp just like he said he would and told me to call him when the insurance adjuster was in route and he would meet with them to show the pictures and make sure they paid for all the damage and not just a portion.

The next day Brad met with my insurance adjuster showing him everything that had gone on the prior day and to inspect the property.  At first the insurance company only wanted to pay to patch everything but Brad showed him that in order to bring the roof up to code it was going to have to be completely replaced.

With in days Brad had his guys out replacing the roof and it couldn't have gone smoother, the next day the interior was fixed and Brad was there to oversee the entire project.  My only out of pocket expense was my deductible and I was more than glad to pay it.

I have a stack of Brads business cards and I hand them out as if they were my own.

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Roof sheathing can buckle from moisture damage, too much weight from roofing materials, or too much space in between rafters without thicker sheathing to compensate for the added distance. Bucking roof sheathing is a serious problem that can lead to a collapsed roof, so have a qualified roofer near you come to identify the problem as soon as possible.

The four types of roof sheathing are plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), planks, and tone-and-groove boards. The overwhelming majority of homes use the first two (especially OSB) and the other two are not often seen outside of special use cases. Methods of sheathing include solid sheathing, open sheathing where there are gaps, and plank sheathing. Most roofs are solid sheathing.

Look for certified local roofing contractors with plenty of experience working with cedar. There are also several important roofing questions to ask before choosing a roofer, including whether they are licensed, bonded, and insured. Once you’ve rounded up a few good candidates, compare estimates and hire whoever gives you the best bang for your buck.

Reapplication every 5-10 years ensures continued protection, but high-UV locations might need more frequent updates.

Chimney caps have a solid top but perforated sides so smoke can exit safely. If rain or snow falls downward, chimney caps can protect the chimney’s interior. Just note that if rain or snow blows in sideways, there’s a higher likelihood it will enter the chimney—but it's not often a cause for concern as long as you have a cap.
