Tell Projects specializes in kitchen, bath, home renovating and remodeling. We strive for expertise and nothing less of perfection. We understand that your house is your castle, and we will treat it as such. Our technique and craftsmanship, ensures that throughout the remodeling process we can't go wrong. Each team member has a unique set of skills that they bring to the table. You will never see a Tell Projects plumber working in carpentry, or an electrician laying tile. All of our employees are bonded and insured through the company so you will never have to worry about a complete stranger working on your precious abode. We take pride in our work and strive to leave every one of our clients (new and repeat) feeling not only like they have gained a new chic and renovated space to love, but that they have also gained a friendship with their new go-to contractor.

"I was referred to Tell Projects by a close friend who had raved about their kitchen renovation. I’m so glad I listened! From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, the team was organized, honest, and incredibly responsive. They helped us redesign our outdated kitchen into something both modern and functional. I especially appreciated their design input and attention to small details that made a big difference. My favorite part? The island, it's now the heart of our home. Highly recommend them!"

"Well, what can I say about Colony Builders? Well, this will be kind of long... but they get full marks from us. We were looking for an enclosed patio for our backyard that joins onto the house. Mainly due to the breaker box being outside and the royal pain of going outside in the pouring rain to flip the breakers every time the power goes off. We also wanted a nice place where we could make the area look nice with potted hanging plants and planter beds. We searched online at various sites including Amazon for what we wanted. The pricing of such a patio online was around the $5,000 range and the reviews were just awful due to the bad workmanship and lack of instructions, so it was there I decided to look up local building companies, and that's when Colony Builders popped onto my screen. We made an appointment online, and within a couple of days we were paid a visit by business owner Ali, who politely sat with us and from there we discussed our ideas of our vision of what we wanted. He worked with us and offered suggestions of his own for an enclosed patio. When we were done, he quoted the price, which was 4 times the amount of the shoddy kit patios we were researching earlier. Unfortunately it was out of our price range, so after he left, we thought about it for awhile before deciding we didn't need it enclosed. After contacting them again, Ali's nephew Mahdi came out to meet with us to discuss this different route. Mahdi is a born people-person and was wonderful to talk things through with. He was respectful and treated us like good friends instead of potential clients. He also understood perfectly of the changes we wanted and offered suggestions to help us save more money on the project. For instance, we have a concrete slab outside our back door. It is standard for townhomes in our area. We also wanted a tile floor on the patio which would be expensive. He offered the faux-tile stamping option, which was much cheaper. Basically stamping tile patterns into the freshly-laid concrete with different powdered colors to give the perfect illusion of tiles, which was perfect for us on a budget. From there we were certain we wanted to go ahead with the project. We decided on an open design patio on sturdy posts with a roof to match our existing roof tiles. All this on a new slab of concrete, much longer than the existing slab with a beautiful rustic mosaic tile-stamp pattern. They could even leave the existing slab in place. A deposit was asked upon agreement of a few thousand dollars up front. Our patio would cost $14,380 all up with no more to pay. Still more expensive than I would like but the craftmanship would be much better. They offer finance through Medallion which gave us the lowest interest rates, and we can even set up automatic payments online. We financed for 144 months to reduce the monthly payments but we have the option of paying more without penalties. Next step after our ideas were laid out was having the architect come over and draw up plans several days later. Madhi was also present for this. He literally was with us for every step of the way which was awesome. Plans were submitted to the HOA. Of course, they were rejected (I hate HOA's!). Apparently our HOA won't allow any structure to be built directly on to the house. So, ok. Mahdi came back over and we discussed further options for approval. The architect came out again... We planned it 3 feet from the wall instead, leaving a nice gap for the rain to fall through, but we'll figure something out later to stay dry. Also 4 posts instead of 2, as it was now free-standing. This time our second HOA rejection. We were getting frustrated at this point and were seriously thinking of scrapping the entire idea. The HOA's newest reason? The entire structure had to be at least 3 feet from the wall. Well, we thought it was! What they were talking about was the roof overhang, it would protrude closer than 3 feet to the wall. Once we redid the plans a 3rd time and kept the roof overhand 3 feet away from the wall, the project was finally approved. Within a few days the concrete guys came out to start the project, it was all happening now! They did a great job and had the slab laid within a day with the tile-stamp pattern already embossed into the concrete, it looked great! They also dug out the corners where the posts were to go, to 2 feet deep. They filled them with rebar and completely filled them with cement, these were for structural support to balance the posts. The second day, they power washed the new patio floor and weather-sealed it. Job done, and we were very happy with it. So were they, as they were often caught dancing away on our security cameras while they worked. They love their job also! A couple of days later, the framers arrived to start on the actual patio. Very quickly they put up our patio and roof tiles and did a great job. The posts themselves were fixed in place by hurricane straps, so it would withstand hurricane-force winds in a storm. The posts were sealed with James Hardy seal. Basically, the wood posts were encased in a super-strong material that protects it from the weather and rotting. It kind of resembles drywall, but much stronger. We were also told this in the planning stage, that we couldn't hang hooks or anything on it because it would crack the seal if we did. The builders would hang them for us using James Hardy nails and hardware. which they did with no worries. It turns out there was a slight miscommunication between us there. You can use normal screws in the wood after it has been sealed, it won't crack it, but can only use the James Hardy nails as they are stronger. They gave us some nails for future use if we want to add more hooks or a trellis. The builders did put a hole in our window screen, which we reported. Mahdi came out right away with a screen he had lying around the office to see if it would fit and replace the damaged one, which it didn't. A nice gesture. The next day the framers/builders finished the job and painted it to the colors of the house and it looked amazing! They also replaced our screen with a new one with no problems. Mahdi and Ali came out that day to see the final result and to make sure we were happy with it, which we were. Mahdi in particular was so helpful throughout this entire (ordeal) project, he was always there for questions and suggestions. He even showed us many ideas of designs for the patio and also the tile-stamp patterns. At no stage was there any doubt of where we all stood on the project, we were always on the same page at all times for every step of the way, and that was exactly what we needed, as this was our first real costly project, so many thanks to you Madhi, you made our life much easier! Your pleasant attitude, extreme patience and kind nature was so appreciated by us so much we can't express. Thank you to Ali too for making this project happen and for offering improvement suggestions along the way. To sum up, this was our first project and we are glad we chose Colony Builders, they work with you every step of the way and never once did they make us feel like they were pressuring us into "selling us something". I would highly recommend them for any project, they get top marks from us. By the way, they offer a 5 year warranty on the patio and base, then a 30 year manufacturers warranty on the roof. We can't argue with that, any hopefully will never need it. This patio is sturdy! Now, all we need is to find a good quality rain guard for the back door and breaker box... We will be using them again to build a small kitchen window box in the future, but that's another review for another day. Thanks again guys, you all did a great job! I have included some pictures of the finished patio, the progress with the concrete base, tile pattern and the color brand used."

"Great company. Honest. Knowledgeable. Very experienced. Fair prices. Exceptional customer service. Zero BS. Dryer wasn’t heating. Dryer repair tech diagnosed 90V coming from an outlet that should’ve been 220V. Thor Enterprises came out that same day and replaced the faulty breaker. Our house was built in 1978 and has the same breaker box. Danny said it was still in working order and didn’t need to be replaced altogether. Most other companies would’ve wanted to switch the whole thing out for a bigger pay day. You can trust Thor Enterprises to do the job right. Highly recommend."

Faircloth Electric is a fully bonded, licensed and insured electrical contractor servicing the Greater Houston Area for over the past 30 years, all of our work is warrantied

"They did an outstanding job, finished in an hour with no mess and a clean result. Added two outlets on two separate breakers to satisfy our electrical needs without going over the breaker and wire rating. Also replaced a burnt out breaker which was causing issues in one of our rooms, even with the short notice of telling them about it the day they came to install the new outlets. Would definitely hire again."

Logo Electrical Services, Inc. is a family owned and operated electrical service and repair company with over 40 years of dedication to the residential and business community. We provide electrical repair in Houston and surrounding areas. We are fully staffed with licensed Houston electricians. Our name and reputation has been built by our dedication to give honest and quality repairs at competitive prices. We specialize in electrical service and repairs at your home or office. Charge for after-hours service. May contact through email. Additional contact: Mark Loguercio at (281) 440-3300. Additional: All major credit cards.

"I recently bought a house in Magnolia, TX, and the electrical work was a mess. As the daughter of an architect, I know when something doesn’t look right, and the spaghetti-like wiring was a big red flag even before we bought the house. We knew it would need some serious work, so I called the first big company for an inspection, and they didn’t pass with flying colors. They seemed more focused on charging high prices than actually making my home safe, and I wasn’t confident they fully understood what they were doing. That’s when I called Mark at Logo Electrical. After walking the property and asking him a ton of questions, it was clear that Mark was the professional we were looking for. He was on time, professional, and most importantly, 100% knowledgeable about electricity. The house needed a lot of investigation (which Mark didn’t charge me for, even though he definitely should have!) to figure out what was even in place before we could plan the repairs. He identified issues I hadn’t noticed and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was addressed. What I really appreciated was Mark’s approach. He didn’t just care about getting the job done within my budget—he genuinely cared about what would make the house safe and functional now, and what I’d need in the future. He even took the time to figure out how we could get everything done in stages, so it wouldn’t break the bank. The shed ended up needing more work than we thought, but Mark stuck to the original quote and never tried to charge me more. He gave me things to think about without ever making me feel pressured. It’s clear Mark treats his clients like family and takes pride in doing the job right. This is why you go with a local company with a lifetime of electrical experience. He knows his stuff when it comes to electricity, and I trusted him with my house. I’m so glad I did. Highly recommend Logo Electrical!"

"I am proud to say that I highly recommend Generator Power Systems (GPS) & Fish Electric, Inc. for any work of this type you may have. I probably could of sub-contracted this work but sure glad I didn’t. My electrician and plumbing contractors advised me to use a contractor who specifies in this type of work turn-key. I high expectations for the products & services I buy. I learned long ago that low-bid usually comes with low expectations and inferior results. All projects will have problems along the way regardless. The way these problems are handled separates the good from the bad in a hurry. More times than not you never see the low-bid people again and find yourself starting over. I obtained 3 quotes. GPS gave a complete quote package and all the technical information I requested, including consulting with Kohler in regards to any unique details of the install. Mike Bell was my consultant. No hard sell – let their reputation and product speak. Very knowledgeable. On-site consultation. All very smooth. One price, all-inclusive, true turn-key. The problems I had with the other quotes were them not providing information I requested. One told me I could google the generator for myself. They wanted me to facetime them, walk around my place videoing everything, and measuring as I went. Neither knew what turn-key means. “Tax, Permits Extra, TBD.” “Gas Meter upgrade not included.” What else may there have been? GPS was not the lowest quote, but I bet by the end of the job they are. They have a close trusted relationship with CenterPoint, both gas & electrical delivery. This is very important on both sides and can add weeks to the process if one is not familiar with the technical and legal requirements. GPS consulted with City Permits and the inspector, getting Kohler involved to make sure all were on the same page long before the work was even scheduled. Jose Guandique and crew were our electrician and besides being knowledgeable & confident in their work, they met the inspector (very particular and thorough in his own right) on-site and looked at every wire one-by-one until the inspector was satisfied. The working relationship with CenterPoint and local inspectors is very important. They have to turn your power off during the install of the transfer switch and panels, get an inspection, and get CenterPoint to reconnect your power. We were only down about an hour. Without a smooth transition with these entities you could be out of luck until things are resolved. Shannon kept me aware of every step and scheduling details. The first crew (Rick) came in and poured a concrete pad (they don’t use flimsy throw-down composite pads) and hand-dug the trench which was very hard work in out hard ground and was done in a workman-like manner. Like all their people that came out, the plumbing crew were on-time & left a clean location. They completed their gas line work and passed inspections without incident. The next step was coordinating with CenterPoint Gas to upgrade the gas meter. This can leave you with gas service for bit but GPS made sure everything was ready and went without a hitch. With all the work complete Chris Rodriguez came out and certified (tested) the system and gave us a little class on how to operate it. Actually, there is very little to do but there’s a few things you need to know and mainly stuff NOT to do. We have opted for the full-service contract and monitoring so things get taken care of even during a big storm event. When I spend my money, I want to enjoy the process. It’s cathartic for me. I truly appreciate watching fine “neat & workmanlike manner” happening in front of me. All-in-all, Generator Power Systems (GPS) & Fish Electric, Inc. provide high-quality equipment and service. Period. Robert Haas, Richmond Fort Bend County Texas U.S.A."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.

Sizing a generator is a careful process that requires calculating the electrical load of your entire house. You have to take into account every device you want to use and their wattage requirements, plus the wattage needed to start them, and look for a generator that can safely run all that at around 80% capacity.

In more practical terms, a small home can run on a 10,000-watt generator (and if you only want to power a few key appliances, much less than that). A mid-sized home may need something between 15,000 and 22,000 watts. Larger homes require 25,000 watts or more.

The typical cost of a home generator is around $5,000, but prices range from $400 up to $13,000, depending on a few factors. The most significant cost factor is the generator size, as larger generators that can support more square footage usually cost more. You can install an emergency backup generator for between $500 and $2,000 or a partial-home generator for between $2,000 and $6,500. Whole-home generators usually total between $5,000 and $13,000, with some models climbing as high as $18,000.

Generators are usually sized by running watts and starting watts. Ideally, you’ll want a generator that can offer both the necessary running watts and starting watts for everything you need to power without going beyond 90% of its capacity. Calculate your home’s electrical load based on the breakers in your home or adding up the appliance and lighting needs of connected rooms.

You may need a permit for a portable generator if you’ll be installing a transfer switch for your primary residence or similar work. Otherwise, a permit for other uses may not be necessary. Check your local building codes or ask a local generator installer for more information about your local regulations.
