A general land clearing company prepares land for construction, agriculture, or development by removing trees, stumps, brush, and debris. Services can include site preparation, demolition of existing structures, excavation, grading, and sometimes utility installation like septic systems. "Mr. Bode is a License arborist and very professional. I loved the fact that he did send pictures and reviewed the health of the tree. We cut down the tree and sent photos of the disease that was killing the tree from the center. We will plant a new tree, and he is coming back, weather permitting, this week to complete the stump removal. We look forward to working with Mr. Bode in the future and his team."

"I had some trees reaching over the roof of my home. I went ahead and hired MR. Sanchez and his partner to trim the trees so that they no longer are a hazard. The service provided was professional and organized , upon tree being trimmed the work that was done was cleaned and left nice. Will definitely hire Themis company in the future , highly recommended!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Pruning is an effective way to prevent a diseased branch from infecting the rest of the tree. If the infection isn’t caught early enough and the pathogen has spread to the trunk or the majority of the branches though, it is too late to prune off the affected areas and you’ll likely need to remove the tree.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

Debris removal is often included in the overall cost of having a tree removed from your property. However, tree maintenance service companies do not always include debris removal in their pricing, so ask any contractors offering tree trimming cost estimates whether or not removal is included. If you want to keep the wood mulch, ask if they charge extra for it as well.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property). Whether or not they top these trees depends on their approach to pruning. You won’t be able to do much to control this, but you can contact them to find out more about their pruning process.
