"As a repair job caused by flooding due to frozen pipes during the February freeze & rolling black-outs of electricity, the prep prior to installation was problematic. Leonard had to cut out some damaged planks of wood, scrap off old adhesive left on the cement floor after remediation, level the cement surface then methodically lace new wood into place. He quoted a fair price for his labor right in line w/industry standards, worked diligently to do the job perfectly to my expectation & w/minimal waste of wood. Looking at his finished product, I can't tell damage was ever done for the floor looks as good as new."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Rubbing alcohol won’t damage most countertops, and you can mix it with water to create a disinfecting spray to keep your kitchen clean. It’s safer than using bleach on countertops, which can stain and cause discoloration. Be careful with rubbing alcohol when it comes to lacquered or varnished surfaces, though.

It is advisable to have stone countertops inspected every few years, especially if damage is noticed. Regular maintenance and inspection help catch and resolve issues early, extending the countertops' lifespan.

Quartz countertops are known for their durability, but they aren’t indestructible. Quartz countertops can crack under extreme pressure, like when experiencing a heavy impact. The same can happen with regular exposure to high temperatures. Finally, improper installation makes the quartz more vulnerable.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

For most homeowners, quartz and quartzite countertops are similar in price. The average quartz countertop installation costs $80 to $220 per square foot, while quartz countertops cost $70 to $200 per square foot. Of course, there are outliers, like if you choose a highly customized, rare natural stone with high-end finishes.
