The company provided a quick and fair quotation using photos and measurements that I provided of the deck along with a description of the services I was requiring.  Upon my acceptance of the quote, the work was scheduled that week.

When the technician arrived, he assessed that due to the previous staining job being performed on wet pressure treated wood that we would need to use a different type of stain product than was originally quoted.  The difference in price was ~$50 and we mutually agreed to the change in scope.

The technician performed the cleaning on the first day.  The cleaning consisted of a blower to remove any large debris and a pressure wash with a cleaning solution.

The staining occurred on day two and was applied with a gas-powered sprayer.  We had chosen a Sherman Williams Solid Color Traditional Russet Superdeck Stain.  As Good As New offered a 3 year warranty for this product.

Upon completion, the technician and I walked the job and looked for missed spots.  We found none.  He then gave detailed instructions on how to care for the new stain and told me to call if we had any issues during the warranty period.

Overall a very positive experience with As Good As New.

"Roger did what he said and it looks very nice. The front of the house no longer shows mildew so that it doesn’t distract from my new landscaping. This was phase 2 of projects with Roger and Magic Touch. First home, been here some years. “You’ve got to keep up with the maintenance.” After issues with other businesses who don’t do all that they say they can, or that paint they used on my deck that did look great for about 3 months, but after that, they will not return calls, or just cannot be located, it’s a relief to work with Roger."

"I reached out to multiple contractors to evaluate and propose a solution for a complex structural problem related to my garage. Specifically, a main structural beam on my covered patio was not properly secured to the structure of the garage. Poor workmanship by a previous contractor had led to leaks in the roof above the beam resulting in rot of the wood framing underneath which eventually led to the failure of the connection between the beam and the framing members in the garage. The beam dropped several inches and damaged the siding and trim on the garage. I called Kephart Handyman after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Barry promptly replied to my inquiry and came to my home to evaluate the problem. After taking some pictures he came back to me quickly with a proposal. There was some uncertainty on what would actually need to be done depending on what his team found when they removed some of the damaged wood. In the end, Barry's team removed and replaced all of the damaged structural framing, roof decking and shingles and added a new support column for the beam. They wrapped the beam to match others on our patio. The quality of their workmanship was very good and the team cleaned up as they did their work. In the end, the job took five days instead of the quoted three days and involved unplanned removal and repair of drywall inside the garage. Barry stood by his estimate and did not charge extra for the added time it took to make the repairs. Overall, I was very satisfied with their work and their ability to find a solution to this complex repair. I would definitely hire Kephart Handyman again and would recommend them to others looking for a professional handyman service. David in Katy"

"Half of the cost listed above was paid by my neighbor.  Ochoa came out promptly to provide an estimate and described what they would do by showing me photographs of other work including the types of gates we would get. They worked with my local village and provided proof of insurance to the town and secured a permit to do the work.  They ensured the gate latches were at the proper height for code and that they are self-closing as the fence surrounds a pool.  They started very promptly and finished promptly too.  They stayed in touch when they left the site for lunch or supplies and they were prompt when the returned on day two to finish. 
Bobby Ochoa was responsive by phone when we were getting an estimate and when we were planning the start and discussing the need for the permit.  He made everything easy for us.  Most importantly, when my neighbor discovered some sprinkler damage near the fence posts (the sprinklers were right along the fence line), Bobby happily returned to fix the problems to his complete satisfaction.
I would use this company again, and plan to use them for some roof maintenance in the next couple of weeks. I'm very satisfied with this experience.
