"I recently had gutters installed by this fantastic father-and-son team, and I couldn’t be happier. They were punctual, professional, and clearly take pride in their work. The installation was smooth, clean, and done with great attention to detail. What really stood out was their friendly, honest approach and the quality of craftsmanship. The gutters look great, work flawlessly, and they even matched them perfectly to my home. It’s rare to find such dependable, hardworking people these days—especially with that personal touch you only get from a family-run business. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and great service!"

"Splendidly. All the glass they work with outside the indoor windows, light fixtures and chandelier all look just like new. I can't remember who recommended them to me, but I'm sure glad they did and I haven't had anyone else doing our windows as long as I can remember. Although it wasn't an issue on our most recent cleaning, on other occaissions in the past I was late in asking for their services for a particular date that was important to me (relatives coming). Joel worked me into this schedule and saved the day."

"Matt from Hill Country Gutter Solutions did a great job installing our new gutters. He was friendly, professional and did a great job for a fair price. He was recommended by the owner of the local company that just installed a new roof on our house, and his recommendation was all I needed to know that Matt would do a good job and that he’s trustworthy. I highly recommend Matt and Hill Country Gutters!"

"Went great ! They did an awesome job sticking to the curves in the layout we had painted out. Weed mat was large stapled down professionally and the mulch was laid down nicely. Checked all the sprinklers that were moved after they were done and adjusted them. One leak was found from a stake for the metal edging and they had that pipe repaired in ten minutes ! While others were finishing up, one of the workers weeded my current beds ! They cleaned up everything nicely and were on their way in a day and a half. Highly recommend them for your project needs !"

Gutter Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

The most common problem with gutters is clogging from debris like leaves, blossoms, and seeds from surrounding trees. This debris can block downspouts, leading to improper drainage and water overflow.

Other common issues include:

  • Leaks and holes, which can often be repaired with gutter sealant or caulk.

  • Rust, sagging, or detachment from the roofline.

  • Damage from strong storms.

  • Improperly pitched gutters that don't drain correctly.

Regular cleaning in the spring and fall is the best way to prevent most of these problems. You may need to clean them more often during periods of heavy leaf fall.

Gutters overflow in heavy rain for several reasons. The main reasons why your gutters could be overflowing in heavy rain include:

  • Not enough downspouts to effectively remove water from your gutters

  • Too small of a gutter width—the average gutter size is four to six inches

  • Clogged gutters

  • Incorrect slope

If you believe your gutters were installed incorrectly, it’s a good idea to know who to call for gutter leaks. Speak with a local gutter specialist to get to the bottom of your gutter system to stop water from flooding your property or yard ASAP.

No—gutters should be designed and properly installed so they are ready to handle any level of rainflow from your roof. If you notice pooling water around your gutters or on the roof, it’s imperative that you contact a gutter repair pro near you—the slope of your gutters could be off and need adjusting.

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

Yes, there are several downsides to installing rain chains. For one, rain chains have a lower flow capacity than a typical gutter and downspout system. This means that if there is a rainstorm, the rain chain can stop working completely. Rain chains also cannot redirect rainwater away from your house. In homes with a sloped yard, this could cause water damage in your foundation or basement.
