Our home is new to us, but was built in the 70s, we were unaware of how bad the electrical wiring was, the Inspector, for some reason, didn't catch it when we bought the house. There was an older breaker box inside my husband's closet also, the wiring inside was a jumbled mess and had several burned areas. We were extremely lucky our house hadn't already burned down. If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws.
