"Level existing concrete driveway I can't say enough good things, from the front office to the field technicians. Justin and Austin were polite, very informative and skilled at what they did. We couldn't be happier with the end result. They will be highly recommended. Ronnie and Linda"

"We had sinking concrete both in our sidewalk and driveway panel next to the garage apron. We hired Baird to do the repairs, including also sealing all of the driveway expansion joints. The results of this job exceeded our expectations and couldn't have asked for anything better. The team was very personable, professional and were happy to explain and demonstrate every step of the way. Highly recommend Baird."

"Hercules did a very good job of getting my foundation repaired. I was in the hospital when the work was done, so no one was there to look after the work, although they were suppose to call my daughter. The repair to the foundation is very good. The mess they left is atrocious. They damaged a very large rosebush and broke off a piece of concrete on my patio that was not repaired."

"Probably due to the sever draught during the summer of 2011 we started having cracks in drywall, sticking doors and windows and other problems related to settling of the foundation.  We got five bids from companies listed on Angie's List.  None of the bids estimated the same work deemed necessary to fix problem and prices were all across the board.  The first person you meet is the "estimator" who assesses the damage and provides a bid.  He/she is also a sales person.  You will frequently hear from him/her, to try encourage you to use his company, until you make a decision.  You probably won't see him/her again if you agree to their proposal.  We chose this company (their bid was not the highest or the lowest) because their work estimate seemed reasonable based on what we could see.  Our repair included tunneling under the foundation to install three piers under the outer wall and four piers across the back, three of which meant cutting holes in our concrete patio.  The company may show you sample pictures of their work showing very small, neat and almost invisable concrete repairs but don't believe it.  Their payment terms were half down and the other half on completion.
The work contract (if you have this work done, read the contract carefully.  The company won't be responsible for any damage to electrical, mechanical or plumbing damage related to their performance.  This contractor provided a plumbing company (A&A Plumbing) to perform a pre and post static test of under foundation drains.
The work crew (work took three and one-half days and there were 4-5 people there at all times) showed up on time on the scheduled day and every day that they worked on the property.  This is labor-intensive work and everyone was industrious and knowledgeable.  These guys worked hard all the time.  The lead person, Mike, was very accomodating and good to deal with.  Ours is a patio home with a postage size yard (apprx. 15'x20') between the house and the garage.  The amount of dirt excaved filled the entire area. We lost 5 very old and healthy shrubs across the back (Co. takes no responsibllity for replacing) and don't know if grass will ever come back.  They put down plywood to place excavated dirt on but not enough to contain all the dirt they removed and all uncovered places became packed with clay.  These workers are not landscapers and their clean up left a lot to be desired.  Be prepared for lots of additional clean up after they leave.   The workers install piers and place bottle jacks for the "lift."  Note that the end result is not to level the foundation to "0" but to lift only enough to bring within acceptable tollerences.  Two men (one was presumably an engineer (?) and the other was a supervisor from the company to supervise the "lift" which is done by hand with one laborer on each jack following the supervisor's instructions) showed up for the scheduled lift.  During the lift one of the piers across the back broke which resulted in the foundation setting down rather abrubtly.
On the last day after all back-filling was done and the work crew had left the plumber showed up to do the post-lift static test.  After about half hour he determined that their was now a leak in our drain and wouldn't fill to ground level.  I hired the same plumbing company to come a few days later and run a camera through all drains and perform a "pin-point" inspection to locate the leak.  After apprx. four and one-half hours they determined that there was no leak.  The "pin-point" inspection is an expensive proposition.  I called two other plumbing companies to get a ball park estimate of cost and the same company was as reasonable or more so than the others.  The cost is approx. $100 per hour for plumber and a $125 camera charge.  After the plumber concluded that there was no leak and speculated that the post-test was somehow bad, he greatly reduced the charge for the "pin-point" inspection.  I thought this was reasonable and was happty that there was no leak.   I would recommend that if a homeowner has foundation work performed and the post-test indicates a leak get a second plumber to do an independent post-test static test to verify.
The permit charge is an add-on with this company which is added to the final payment.  The company indicated that the City will call to arrange for a final inspection but I seriously doubt that this would happen.  Since they didn't want to inspect the work while the piers were uncovered, I can't imagine what they would "inspect."  Suspect that this is just another FEE that doesn't result in any in-progress quality inspection or follow-up.
My overall rating for this company is a B because I would consider an A to represent excellent or near perfect work.  I don't think any foundation company would rate an overall A unless they left the property in the same condition they found it and that didn't happen.  I would recommend this company and A&A Plumbing."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
