"The owner of CJM Custom Homes & Renovations,Jarrett Spence, is perhaps the most concientious  and knowledgeable contractor you will ever come across.  In our case, he certainly fits that description.  He is great communicator and makes sure nothing CJM Customs Homes & Renovations puts its name to is not top notch.  No detail is overlooked, and Jarrett sees the work through to completion to make sure it is done right.  Of course, we hit a snag or two along the way, but that was expected.  The work progressed nicely and we are very very pleased with the final result.
If you hire CJM Custom Homes & Renovations, be prepared to have your socks knocked off!  You will be supremely impressed with the knowledge, diligence, professionalism and integrity that the company will devote towards your project.  For these reasons, I highly recommend CJM Custom Homes & Renovations to anyone wanting a first class improvement project done on his home.

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, your house's age can affect how much it costs to install new light fixtures. If you have a very old house with an equally old wiring system, then chances are you'll need to update your wiring to accommodate your new fixtures. It can take anywhere from one to three or more hours to update an old house's wiring for a new light fixture, and since electricians charge by the hour, you'll want to factor this extra time in when budgeting for the project.

Halogen and LED light bulbs are the most common bulbs for recessed lighting, but you don’t need any special type. LEDs are growing in popularity because they’re the most energy-efficient, which can help you save money in the long run and minimize how often you need to change your light bulbs.

The distance from the dining table to the bottom of the chandelier's droptop is essential when hanging your light fixture. For example, the fixture should hang 30 to 36 inches above the table for an 8-foot ceiling. If your ceiling is higher than the standard eight feet, add three inches of chandelier height for every foot of ceiling height.

As you scroll through countless types of recessed lighting, look for features and light quality. Motion sensors can make your home more accessible. Smart-ready fixtures give you control at your fingertips. Light quality can set the mood. The package's label and the online specs for LED lights will display the lumens and Kelvin (K). Lumens tell you the brightness—650 for daylight, one for candlelight. Kelvin tells you the temperature—warm (below 4,000K), neutral, or cool (above 5,000K).

DIY is possible for basic setups. Professional installation ensures proper wiring and energy efficiency.
