"There have been many roofers in my area after recent storms. I am retired and was able to drive round and observe the work of every contractor, during and after repair. Before I even spoke with a DAV construction representative, I knew that they were without doubt the most professional and efficient crews I had seen and used the best (affordable) materials.. To my surprise, after contacting a number of contractors for bid, DAV came in with a very reasonable price. I told them my concerns with the existing roof and was recommended additional vents that have reduced my A/C 'on time' by 30% per day! The job was completed in one day and the clean up was excellent, I now have a roof that does not leak and looks good too. Don't waste your time talking to pushy sales guys from the canned companies that leave yard signs everywhere......they turn up in fancy cars.....and who do you think is paying for that! Call DAV, you WILL NOT be disappointed."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

There are several ways to tell if your gutter downspout drain is backed up. The most obvious sign is when you see water flowing over your gutter edges. This can occur during everything from light rain to a rainstorm. Additional signs can include peeling paint around your downspout, visible dirt around your downspout, and moisture on the side of the house. If you're having ongoing problems with clogs caused by a poorly designed or worn-out gutter system, consider getting a quote for gutter replacement cost.

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.

You’ll likely pay between $300 and $450 to unclog your toilet with Roto-Rooter. However, the price could change depending on if the clog has caused a lot of damage, which your plumbing pro will want to inspect during your service appointment. Keep in mind that you won’t get a quote from Roto-Rooter over the phone. They have to send a pro out for an in-person cost estimate. You can also attempt to snake your own clog for a lot less, and simple drain snakes cost no more than $50.
