In the summer of 2015 we completely renovated our backyard, replacing a number of large bushes, the mulch, and all the sod. In an effort to patronize a locally owned business rather than a big box retailer, we purchased everything that we could from Barrera's. We spent well in excess of $2000.00 there. The last piece of our project was laying sod. We got through two pallets, which were just fine. At the top of the third pallet we encountered a nest of fire ants. We are not talking a few dozen ants, we are talking tens of thousands, along with handfuls of eggs. Coming anywhere close to the pallet was clearly a safety hazard. Confident that Barrera's would take care of the problem for us, we called the nursery and spoke with Ezekiel (Nick, the owner, was on site but did not care to speak with us). My husband explained the problem and politely asked how we needed to go about getting the pallet replaced. We were downright stunned when we were told that that sod is sold as-is and they would not be replacing the infested pallet. Ezekiel "helpfully" suggested that we lay the sod, water it, and treat it with pesticide, clearly not understanding that moving such heavily infested grass would land at least one of us in the emergency room. I then got on the phone and explained to Ezekiel that we had specifically elected to patronize a local small business rather than heading for Home Depot or Lowe's to purchase all our landscaping materials. We did this with the expectation that we will get personalized service and that the store owner/manager will help us out if there is a problem. Ezekiel's explanation was that Barrera's does not grow the sod and therefore takes no responsibility if the sod is unusable. At that point I was angry and explained that my displeasure with this absurd policy would be clearly reflected in as many online reviews as I could post. I asked Ezekiel if I could please speak to the owner about this matter and he stated that the owner would give me the same answer and that he invited me to post any reviews that I cared to. I have never come across a retailer so unwilling to back up their product. As pointed out by my son, this would be exactly like going to Best Buy and purchasing a computer and arriving home and finding it smashed to bits and unusable in the box, only to be told by the Best Buy manager that we would have to live with it and purchase a new one if we want a functioning computer. Ridiculous! This is the last time that we will purchase anything from Barrera's.

Justin called us immediately after the request for repairs was submitted. We scheduled a time the same day for Justin to come out and he arrived promptly before the scheduled time. Justin and his crew completed all the services we requested in a very timely and very professional manner. Justin explained to us very clearly the status of each repair and what it would take to make the repair. We live on an acre of land and the back yard was full of broken PVC man-made faucets that were broken and unusable in at least 8 areas of the back yard. Justin was able to prevent all these from leaking until they could be removed. We would definitely use Justin in the future and would highly recommend him and his services to anyone who wants or needs excellent plumbing services. It is refreshing to know there are still good and dependable contractors out there. Thank you Justin!

To summarize, areas you think are your concern are not the way some things turn out. We have a mix of natrual gas and electrical to a roof to be more focus on. Mr Robinson was able to narrow our foundation concern without a big discussion, level it. He set our focus on avoided maintenance and plans with remodeling. Reporting day, buyer and seller eager to get report. Report ready and thorough, with examples and photos. Prepare. Allow yourself about 3-4 hours to a narrative. I had to add 2 check boxes, those areas I really care about and those I need to know areas. It was easy to read and provided suggested costs, determined to stress importance of safety areas and ease of resolving those maintenance items. We got estimates and came in line with report. We feel that we have the right information and a baseline for future work, for an older home. Having always used inspecton on a new home (4), this was a first for our family to inspect an old home. And we have used inspectors right before new construction warranty ends to set matters equal. But this was a report, and grateful. After, we plan to use company to return after construction work and validate our plan to baseline. I'm sure it will be ease. They?re fairly new company
Had Marcus come out and said that the fence on the north side of the property was encroaching by 2ft . When Marshal Miller completed the survey it said 1.7 ft.
My neighbor had a survey done ( as we ended up having to go to court) and her survey showed a 2ft encroachment. When my attorney reached out to LoneStar about this and a statement , they declined to comment.
I sent an email to both Marcus and Marshal about this and never heard back from them.
These guys are cocky inexperienced lack communication skills unprofessional attitude. Do not recommend!!
My neighbor complained that they trespassed onto her property without permission.
They do give out free legal advice lol ?
