"Epic Lawn Service evaluated my fixes: removed the 7ft. stump of a 90 year oak tree, filled in the hole and smoothed the earth to match the yard around it, repaired 30 ft. of chain link fence, raked up leaves scattered around the house and on the roof. Epic Lawn finished the job on time and with care. Terrific Team!"

"I hired Turf Rescue to install sod in my front and backyard. Him and his crew were very professional and efficient with the install along with offering to come back to mow the yards to maintain the pristine look they left me with. I've recommend them to a few of my friends and neighbors because you can they're passionate about their work and the results speak for themselves."

"Zack was incredible. He made my ceiling look night and day from what it was! My skylight leaked into my master bathroom. I had the skylight removed and tried to patch the hole myself. Ha didn't work. I contacted Zack to fix the ceiling. It looks like the skylight was never there. It's beautiful! Flushed with the rest of the room, flawlessly! I would use him on my next home and any future products. I would also recommend him to anybody in the community. He's polite, trustworthy, punctual and keeps you informed on the product. Also, incredible pricing!! Thank you, Zack!"

"My ex-girlfriend and I own a home in San Rafael. When we decided to break up, we decided to keep the house instead of selling it and we rented it out. However, there were some things that needed to be fixed before new tenants moved in. The faucet in the kitchen and the shower head needed to be replaced because there wasn't much pressure and Rudy told us that it's because of the chlorine in the water that clogged it. Also the water wasn't draining well in the bathtub after shower and we knew that the most likely cause was the accumulation of hair overtime. What we didn't know was that you actually clean it from the bottom part of the faucet where the water comes not where the waste water drains, needed to be removed and cleaned, and oh boy there was so much hair. Rudy made it look so easy. He's a super nice person, able to fix almost anything, and his prices are very reasonable."

"Big Rock performed above my expectations. My project involved the removal of a large arbor Installed over a patio, surrounded on three sides by my house. I was contacted literally within minutes of submitting my HomeAdvisor request, and scheduled an appointment for a site visit the next day. Mr. Rock and I came to mutual agreement as to a reasonable bid for the project, which I confirmed to my satisfaction as I had more than one bid made on the job. I had additional questions concerning liability coverage in the event of any property damage, and my questions were courteously answered by Ms. Corsandra during a follow-up telephone call. After accepting the bid, Mr. Rock and his associate, J.T., came out to my property the next morning. By the afternoon the arbor was completely, and safely, dismantled and removed. All Big Rock company employees I had contact with were pleasant, respectful, and professional."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

It is not advisable to use salt on your roof to prevent or remove ice dams. It’s not only mostly ineffective but can also cause serious damage to your roof itself. Salt can rust metal, damage masonry, pit shingles, and cause runoff that’s damaging to plants and animals.

While it’s less common than on other kinds of roofs, yes, ice dams can form on metal roofs. Metal roofs, particularly those with snow guards installed, can still accumulate ice at the roof edge, although ice dams on metal roofs are less likely to cause roof or interior damage than on traditional asphalt shingle roofs.

Costs range from $50 to $150 per hour, depending on the property size and service frequency.

The best time to hire a snow removal professional is long before snow falls in your area. Signing up for a seasonal contract not only provides peace of mind that your property will be cleared every time it snows, but it’s also often more affordable to sign a contract than paying for one-off services. If you prefer one-off shoveling services, you should contact your snow removal company the day before a storm is expected to schedule service. You can also call the morning of the snowfall, but this might result in delays.

Snowblowers come in three different sizes: first-, second-, and third-stage blowers. Each additional stage is larger with higher intakes, more powerful, and has more gear options.

A first-stage blower, also called a snow thrower, is usually best for snow 6 to 8 inches or below. Electric snow blowers are usually only available in this size. If you regularly get snow that’s well above six inches, consider a second-stage snow blower. If snowstorms dump 2 to 3 feet of snow repeatedly during winter, you need a third-stage snow blower to tackle it.
