"Excellent. Honest and quick work. Mr. King was able to get someone out on short notice, to shim/shiv the piers. They performed a full scale cleanup last year, and I will only use Basement kings for any of my crawlspace work. Best in Texas!"

"

the professionals at ReBath changed our very old and very plain bathroom into a beautiful very one-of-a-kind antique powder room.  Its spectacular and I love showing it off.  The team was very attentive to all concerns before-hand, including price, and I can honestly say these guys went way above and beyond the normal routine for us and it really shows.  They were always prompt and courteous and really knew what they were doing, even handling a few pretty wild curve-balls that came out of left field like real pros.   It was worth every penny and they even finished on the given date.   Would highly recommend ReBath, also loved the fact that these people can do it all.  No need for 4 or 5 different contractors; they can do the plumbing, the electrical stuff, demolish and clean-up was awesome, even floors, doors or painting - they made it simple.   thank you so much guys!      satisfied in florence

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to
write this review so that the request to write this review stops
popping up.
The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

"Purchased coupon on August 11, 2011.  Because I was remodeling my kitchen myself after work and weekends, I didn't have time to deal with the creating the room drafts, plans, layouts or measurements she required.  I did contact Jill and explain the situation and she was very understanding.  She said because I contacted her, not to worry about the deadline.  I remained in contact with her over the next few years (that's how long it took me) and when I was ready around the start of 2014, she worked hard to provide her new design.
A true professional and great person to work with.  The design was spot on and my wife and i were very impressed.  Thank you Jill.

"Maxey Contracting did an excellent job for us. Blake & Jason were awesome. They are honest, dependable, professional and hard-working. They tore out an old 10x10 deck and installed a beautiful 16x16 composite deck. We were so happy and satisfied with our new deck, that we hired them to install a 40 foot block retaining wall and do a landscaping project. Overall, they did an exceptional job for us and we would highly recommend them for your next project. We'll definitely call them back, when we need their help. What more could someone ask for from a contractor!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.

It’s best to use two screws to secure deck boards into every joist. Securing the boards to every joist makes the deck more structurally sound, while using two screws on the outer sides of the boards can help prevent warping and cupping.

Balcony construction or replacement typically requires a building permit from your local permitting authority. Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.
