"I was very impressed. Sonny and his team were wonderful at communicating with me while they were doing the job they were hired to do. They were on time, did great prep and clean up . The neighbors were already giving compliments to me and Sonny about his team’s exterior paint job on my house as we were doing the final inspection. I will definitely be consulting with Sonny about any future projects that arise."

"Joel and his team did amazing work! They’re dependable, respectful, kind, prompt, and we’d hire them again in an instant without question. Joel is a man of his word and knows what he’s doing. We have recommended him countless times and will continue to do so. We don’t say this lightly as we’re not easy to impress. They installed almost entire home of LVP and ceramic tile. They paid so much attention to detail we truly couldn’t believe it. His employees speak so highly of him too and by experience we know that speaks volumes of any contractor. Don’t hesitate to hire Seaside Renovations bc they will NOT let you down!"

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

In most cases, a professional countertop installer will take between three and six hours to install your granite countertops. However, it may take two and four weeks to order and receive the materials to install, including time for measurements, checking that your cabinets can support the added weight, and delivery. If you choose a high-end slab of granite from a particular excavation site, you could wait for several months for delivery.

Yes, quartzite is heat-resistant, so you can put hot pots and pans on top without risking damage.

Rounded countertop edges, like bullnose or eased edges, are the least likely to chip. Their smooth, curved design helps distribute impact more evenly, unlike sharp corners, which often take the brunt of a hit. Also, unlike pointed edges, rounded edges won't snag on material like dishcloths or clothing.

The angle at which you cut countertops depends on the material, your intended outcome, and the location of the cut. For example, rather than cutting a straight 90-degree angle for internal corners, cut edges at a 45-degree angle to give a clean, professional look. For outside edges, most homeowners want squared-off sides, so 90-degree angles can make the most sense there. Because you want to get angles exactly right to minimize seams and eliminate the need for patching, be sure to measure several times before cutting and use the right equipment to get sharp, accurate angles.

Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour. Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:

  • Marble tile: $7–$10

  • Granite tile: $5–$15

  • Marble slab: $25–$60

  • Granite slab: $50–$100
