"Wallpaper removal and painting was done professionally using plastic protective material to protect house from dust and paint. Contractor was efficient and methodical in applying the Fresco base, texture and finish coats and glaze with excellent results. Also did an excellent job manufacturing and painting the custom mirror frame to match the new bronze sink fixtures and cabinet hardware.

"Great work! We were on a major time crunch- closed on a house on Friday and was moving in Wednesday. Needed popcorn ceiling removal on 2000+ sq ft house. They were completely done when we showed up Wednesday & looked great! They scraped, sprayed orange peel texture and painted. We loved the end result!"

"I am about to put my house on the market, and knew I needed to spend a little money to get it looking ship shape.  I needed some old foundation cracks in my drywall repaired, some rotten siding replaced, some rodent damaged siding replaced, and all those areas repainted. Two external doors also needed to be adjusted due to prior foundation work.  Along with that, I needed an entire interior repaint for the walls and trim.
I called David, the owner, based on the "A" performance and reviews I found on Angie's List, and he agreed to come out and meet promptly for an estimate.  David quickly estimated, and got me a price a few days later.  At the same time, I contacted two other similar "A" rated vendors that I found, and had them come out as well.  One gave me an estimate, but was unable to do the door and exterior work I needed (they said that I would need to contact multiple vendors).  And the other flat refused to do the external siding repair unless I did an entire exterior repaint.  They said they could not repair the doors either.  I chose David because he recommended simple solutions for the exterior work, was able to repair one door for me, and replace another, and do all the interior paint and repair work needed.  His price was not as cheap as the other vendor, but he was able to do ALL the work, and it was worth the small amount of extra price for the convenience of not having to coordinate three companies.
The work was excellent.  Crews showed up on time.  Covered and cleaned everything.  I stayed out of the house because of the paint smell, and they left their tools and supplies overnight.  I even gave David a key to the house, and he and the crew entered and locked up every day for a week while I was at work (I never actually saw them doing work, it was done while I was away).  Nothing was stolen, my neighbors said they were respectful and David kept me informed whenever I asked.  They finished on time, with the exception of a door that took longer than expected (not David, or Your Next Painter's fault, but the door manufacturer's back order).  The day the door came in, they were back to my house, and finished the job.
I couldn't be happier with the result.  The house looks great, and I hope to sell it quickly for a good price.  I would definitely recommend them, and may even use them again for my new house (I'm moving locally)."

"I read many reviews on Angies List and contacted several painting companies with my needs.  Carlos from Allstar Painting was one of three responses I received that could do the work requested.  Based on reviews and his responsiveness, I gave him the job immediately upon receiving his bid.  This was on a Thursday.  He said he could start on Tuesday and the job would take two days.  I wanted Crown molding in the bathroom and together we contacted a colleague of his to come by and look at the job and give me a bid on the work.  The two got together and worked it out so the job could still be done on the two days. Carlos arrived on time both days, moved the furniture to put down a carpet of paper so that anything tracked in would be on the paper. He removed the bathroom door, blinds, and proceeded to tape, float and texture the walls.  Some caulking was required and he also did that.
We decided on a paint color together.  He actually changed my mind about the color I had selected.  The second day he arrived on time and got started on painting the ceiling before the trim man arrived.  When he did arrive, the two of them worked together in harmony to get the the trim and crown molding put up. After the trim man left, Carlos finished up the job. He pulled up the 'carpet of paper', cleaned up the bathroom, and left things very neat.  I couldn't be more pleased with his professionalism and a job well done.  I definitely recommend him highly if you have painting needs.  He is a really nice man, too!

"As a first time homebuyer and a young single female without any prior remodeling experience, I was very apprehensive about hiring someone to remove the popcorn ceilings from my entire house. Noe and his team exceeded my expectations in their time efficiency, quality of work, and cost that I hired him mid-job to install an exterior French patio door, remove cabinets/ re-drywall the laundry area and paint the entire interior and exterior. His ability to translate my Pinterest desires into realistic options that fit both my budget and my extremely specific aesthetic taste is unmatched. How often will you hear a contracted professional talk you out of doing a $10,000 project for a $5,000 project with very similar results?! I have referred North Painting Solutions to several friends already and will continue to do so. Quality work done the correct way is exactly what you can expect from Noe and his team."

"The first week the bathroom cabinets and drawers were all removed and taken offsite. This included 4 cabinet doors and 6 drawers. The facing was stripped on one day and painted the next. Brad was finishing up another job which is why he started the kitchen cabinets the second week. All kitchen doors and drawers were removed the second week and striped and stained offsite. The kitchen was sealed off and the stripping was started. Removing the varnish took a bit longer than norm because it had been put on thicker when the house was built. The whole process took about two weeks. Customer service provided was excellent. I felt  comfortable leaving town for a week while he was working. The work was completed on time. He cleaned up before leaving and was professional and polite. I love the overall look of my kitchen now.

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to wash the walls to remove wallpaper adhesive residue after removal as part of the prep process for painting or rehanging wallpaper. Old adhesive can cause texture issues and prevent paint or wallpaper from adhering properly to the wall’s surface.

Using a fabric softener solution is a popular and low-cost DIY method for removing wallpaper, but its effectiveness is limited. While it may work on some types of wallpaper, it is unlikely to be successful on vintage styles, and there is no evidence that it is more effective than other removal methods. There are also several potential downsides: the solution can leave behind a residue that may damage your walls or interfere with the adhesion of new wallpaper. Additionally, this method can create a strong, overpowering aroma that takes a long time to dissipate, making it a poor choice for homeowners sensitive to smells.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

The cost varies from $1 to $3 per square foot, depending on the type of wallpaper, the wall condition, and the labor involved.

The simple nature of peel and stick wallpaper means it should come off much more easily than traditional wallpaper that is glued to your walls. You’ll still want to work slowly and carefully to avoid tearing it, but most peel and stick wallpaper should come off without a chemical agent to loosen it.
