Bugabug Pest Control began in June 1999. Mark Foltz, the owner, has worked in this industry for 28 years, both as a top producer for a world-wide company and as a technician. The glimmer of Bugabug flickered when Mark could not continue to support a company that sold service to its customers but did not live up to their service agreement. The Foltz family had a 3 month old son, $3000 in the bank a used truck that had to be fumigated, and faith. Mark wanted to supply a service based on honesty, affordability, and dependability. With an add in the Greensheet, miles of putting out fliers, word of mouth, and out-of-the-ordinary and dependable first rate service, Bugabug has grown into a two-location company that serves over 20 counties.

Take out your garbage and compost as often as possible and tightly seal all your kitchen containers, especially the mason jars you use to hold your sugar—sugar is gold to ants.

You can also hire a local handyperson to help you prevent future ant infestations. The handyman can seal cracks and fix leaks throughout your home, which will keep any ants from entering.

A temperature of 119 degrees Fahrenheit will kill bed bugs and their eggs within 90 minutes. No temperature kills them instantly, but if exposed to high temperatures over extended periods, bed bugs will be killed off. Bed bug eggs must be exposed to the same temperature for 90 minutes to reach 100% mortality.

You can use commercial repellents to help deter rodents, but they often have mixed results. A better solution is preventing rodents from getting under your home in the first place. Using steel wool or foam sealer, plug all potential entry points like gaps and cracks in the foundation. 

Also, consider installing hardware cloth or wire mesh over vents, utility openings, and any openings under the porch or foundation. Regular inspections and maintenance will aid in early detection and prevention, ensuring a rodent-free environment beneath your house.

Any food that’s left out can potentially attract mice, but they especially like grains such as rice. Mice will also go after fruit, fatty foods like bacon, pasta, and cereal. Mice can also be attracted to garbage and compost bins if they’re left uncovered. The best way to prevent mice from getting to these areas is to keep food in hard-sided containers and cover garbage bins.
