"Window Expo's pricing was right in the middle compared to the 3 other firms at which I looked. Quality of windows for the money and warranty were the clinchers. They provided good comms, showed up on time and did what they said. Crew worked really well together. They were courteous and respectful and did a good cleanup after. My home looks good, is quieter and feels well sealed now. We are extremely happy with window Expo's services. Most highly recommended."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

Great people and I'd highly recommend their services. Jeff is a great guy and his main goal is to please the customer and make sure you are totally satisfied prior to leaving."

Window Door Contractors FAQs, answered by experts

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.

The cost of a window repair varies significantly depending on which part is damaged. Here is a breakdown of common repairs and their estimated costs:

  • Broken seal or fogginess between panes: $70–$245

  • Cracked pane: $40–$100

  • Broken glass: $200–$2,000

  • Sash, seal, or track repair: $200–$600

  • Latch or hardware issues: $75–$200

  • Broken window frame: $175–$1,000

  • Window screen replacement: $140–$480

Window seals don’t last forever, so they’ll inevitably fail for one reason or another. One of the most common reasons is the expansion and contraction of the glass. When the glass gets warm from sunlight, it expands and adds pressure to the seal; at night, as the glass cools, it contracts. This process, day in and day out, can eventually cause the seal to fail. Other common sources of failure include the house settling over time, chemicals that damage the seal when repainting windows, and incorrect window installation.

Yes, you can add a screen door to most door frames. The screen should be able to fit standard-size door frames, so unless you have an unusually sized door, you shouldn’t have an issue. Just make sure to properly measure the frame. When in doubt, it’s best to let a pro take care of this task for you so it’s installed correctly.

By replacing the worn mesh and repairing frames, restoring functionality and appearance.
