Small jobs welcome

"Arturo did an excellent job upholstering my favorite chair. The chair belonged to my great-grandmother and is very special to me. He quoted a very fair price and finished the job in a week. He picked it up and delivered it when it was finished. The chair is beautiful! The quality is outstanding. I'm very pleased. I highly recommend Star Upholstery.."

"The company was very helpful when I spoke with them. Directions were easy to understand. The table pad fit perfectly. I am unhappy with the color and the "fake wood grain". I am also unhappy with how the pieces for the leaves fit together with the main table pad. There are spaces and black lines between where the leaves and main pad fit together. It's so extremely obvious that a table pad is on my table. It's actually really ugly and takes away from my beautiful table. I guess I assumed that people may have to take a second glance to see if it was real or fake."

"I contacted Arbor View and am so glad I do. I love patronizing hard-working, self-employed individuals. Mike Foote was a consummate professional. He worked with me to arrange a time for both our schedules. Mike kept in constant communication with me and emailed me a detailed estimate after we completed a walk-through at my home. He gave me time to do my research and send him feedback on his suggestions, including pictures of the items I wanted to keep.
What I was most impressed with is that Mike gave me recommendations to help me maintain my spaces on my own and answered ANY question I had. I love what he did and can't wait to have have Arbor View return to make another beautiful area on another side of my home.

FAQs for upholstering projects in Corinth, TX

As with any project, weighing the pros and cons of upholstery can help determine if that is the right choice for you. The ultimate question is whether it’s worth reupholstering instead of buying new furniture. Here are a few of the benefits and disadvantages of reupholstering a piece of furniture.

Pros:

  • Preserving a family heirloom

  • Maintaining high-quality furniture in good condition

  • Reinventing an old piece of furniture

  • Keeping a piece of furniture from going to a landfill

Cons:

  • Spending (possibly) more than to buy a new piece of furniture

  • Finding out the frame is beyond repair

  • Waiting for the reupholstery work to be done

It can be cheaper to reupholster a chair or other piece of furniture than to buy a new one, depending on how much it costs to replace. If the chair or couch originally cost less than $300, then reupholstery may not be the cheapest option. However, if the chair is expensive, vintage, or discontinued, reupholstery can be the more affordable option. This is especially true if the piece of furniture is out-of-production or holds sentimental value.

Paying to reupholster a piece of furniture means you want to hire the right upholstery service, especially for a piece that’s expensive or carries a lot of sentimental value. In your search for the right upholstery company, be sure to:

  • Ask around to see if friends or family know of any upholsterers

  • Find reviews of the company or individual

  • Look at the photo gallery of their work to see if they work on furniture like yours and if you like their work

  • Check qualifications and references

  • Ask the upholstery service if they work on furniture like yours, what their schedule looks like, how they handle payments, and how long the job will take

On average, the cost to reupholster furniture is about $720 per piece. However the price range to upholster a piece of furniture varies widely from about $380 to $1,150 or more, depending on the material type and availability, repairs needed, and the complexity of the project. Fabric costs typically range from $50 to $70 per yard while the cost of labor runs from $40 to $100 per hour.
