"I would like to highly recommend Air Rx for the outstanding job they did at our home. Justin, the Air Rx technician, arrived on time and quickly assessed the tasks for him to complete. First, he meticulously cleaned the dryer vent. Next, Justin removed all the air registers, cleaning them until they looked brand new. With the registers removed, he was able to use a large vacuum to reach into the air ducts. Those ducts were sprayed with a cleaner and the unit itself distributed a fine mist throughout the entire system to treat mold, dust and other allergens. When all the duct cleaning was done, Justin vacuumed our entire home to remove the debris that had fallen out during the cleaning process. While he was here, I asked him if he could help us with replacing the original air return register, which is old and battered. He measured the opening, called his boss, who delivered it, and it was installed, too. We have asked our A/C company at least four times for help with how and where to get it replaced since it is an odd size. This is a first rate company!"

"Wetzel's Heat & Air excel right off the bat. On the initial visit, Tim completed a sketch of the room layout, room dimensions, and number, size of vents. Johnny Wetzel performed air handling analysis which they recommended correct duct and vent sizes. Tim, lead installer, and Johnny is two that I trust in this business. The new system was installed professionally and completely."

#1. The Workflow: Top-to-Bottom\nMost effective cleaning experiences follow a vertical logic:\n* **Dusting:** Starting with ceiling fans, light fixtures, and high shelves so that debris falls to the floor.\n* **Surfaces:** Wiping down counters, tables, and mirrors.\n* **Floors:** Ending with vacuuming and mopping to pick up everything that was pushed down from higher levels.

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The frequency of cleaning your dryer depends on how often you use it. For regular households, it is recommended to clean the lint trap after each load of laundry. Additionally, thorough cleaning of the dryer—lint trap, drum, and exterior—should be done every few months. It's important to pay attention to the vent system as well. Ideally, it should be cleaned at least once a year, or six months if your dryer takes care of huge loads often, or more frequently if you notice reduced drying efficiency.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, dryers and washing machines cause over 15,000 fires a year, with dryers causing about 92 percent of those fires. Because dryer fires are more common than you might think, it’s important to clear the lint trap regularly and have annual dryer vent cleanings.

Yes, mold can grow in a wet dryer vent. Mold is a type of fungi, and fungi thrive in warm, moist conditions. Dryer vents need to be aired out so heat can escape and moisture can dry. If your dryer vents aren’t properly vented, the trapped heat and moisture will cause mold to grow, and the mold can spread to the dryer and even your clothes. Not only can this leave a musty smell on your freshly laundered clothes, but—more importantly—it also poses a health risk.

Lint is very flammable. Pair that with the hot heat your dryer produces as it runs, it creates a recipe for sparks and flames. Lint build up is the leading cause of dryer fires, so running routine maintenance on your dryer lint trap is critical to keep your home safe.

In a ventless dryer, lint it collected in a lint filter found inside the door or dryer drum. Vented dryers have this same lint filter, but in a ventless dryer you’ll need to stay on top of cleaning the lint filter after every wash. This is a common best practice, regardless of your dryer vent type.
