Our company was founded by David Berger over thirty years ago and David has been selling table pads direct to the public for over forty years. We know our table pads and we know how to design the perfect fit the very first time.

I believe there is an intimate connection between a home and a homeowner. A well-designed environment should go beyond just beautiful aesthetics. Successfully executed interior spaces must have the capacity to lift your spirits, improve your mood, and above all function. For this reason, I am always honored when a client entrusts me with their home. My goal is to develop healthy relationships with my clients in order to fully understand and create spaces that reflect their lifestyle needs and tastes. In order to maintain solid working relationships, I believe communication must be the cornerstone of project management. I am a firm believer in keeping clients updated about project progress, estimated times of completion, explanation of process, and keeping projects within budget. My clients’ happiness at all stages of projects, from initial consultation to completion, is of utmost importance to me and is what makes my job so rewarding. I am not satisfied until you are.

Bill Griffith is one of our country's most experienced craftsman, specializing in refinishing & upholstering. Having started learning the trade in 1951 in a family owned business in California, he not only learned upholstering but also the restoration and repair of woods. He and his family moved to Texas in 1978 and has been established in the North Houston area giving quality service to all his Houstonian customers for over 25 years now. He still works with his family. His daughter, Darla, helps her dad with the business; and son, Dan runs a custom cabinetry shop; Griffith Wood Werks, right next door.

"It’s now been several years being retired and getting older wanted to replace our carpeting. We had a really nice Berber for 17 years but knew would not last forever. Time to replace while we could still empty cabinets, etc. I asked and sought help from The owner expressing how I loved how what we had had held up and wanted comparable new carpet. Well he showed me some samples I asked if they would last and wear as good as my existing carpet. “Oh yes” ha absolutely not. Since the first month the carpet has been unraveling. My job after vacuuming is to carpet punch the strands back in. 66 crawling around of the floor punching carpet. Oh it was the owner who told me I needed to buy a carpet punch. So as I get older it is harder crawling around but I still remember the owners could care less. Go elsewhere."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Furniture reupholstery costs vary based on many factors, but most projects cost between $350 and $1,100, with an average price of $700 per piece. Some factors that affect the price of furniture reupholstery include:

  • Size of the piece

  • Current condition of the material

  • Materials used

  • Age of your furniture

  • Additional furniture repairs

  • Number of pieces of furniture

  • Your location and whether or not the work is done on-site

Reupholstering is often worthwhile for high-quality, antique, or sentimental couches, especially if the frame is sturdy. It can cost less than buying a comparable new piece and allows for customization, but may not be cost-effective for low-end furniture.

Not always—heavily worn or broken furniture often isn’t worth repairing or refinishing (if it’s even possible). While some damage can be repaired and some of the visual appeal restored, major flaws, such as structural issues, can’t be fixed as easily. If you still want a cost-saving furniture refinishing project rather than purchasing all new, consider shopping for similar secondhand pieces at thrift stores, garage sales, and estate sales.

In most cases, it is more affordable to reupholster furniture than it is to replace it, but it depends on the quality and age of the furniture you’re considering getting reupholstered. Antique pieces are always worth reupholstering, as it’s the only way to preserve the piece and extend its life. Newer pieces of furniture are more often made using lower-quality materials like medium-density fiberboard or plywood that don’t have the same lifespan as things like hardwood. For newer pieces, your furniture reupholstery specialist should be able to help you determine the best course of action.

Paper moving pads, also called furniture wrapping paper or paper moving blankets, are sheets of recycled paper used to protect various items during moving. Similar to traditional moving blankets, paper pads are also reusable, making them a sustainable and cost-effective option for protecting your belongings during the moving process. Although they’re recycled, they still provide excellent protection against dust, dirt, and scratches.
