"Their service (double door replacement) was performed on schedule. BUT... 1) new door was set up for electric door opener; i.e., no grab-handles inside or out. And Tech had no handles on the truck 2) Estimate included requirement for 3-foot workspace inside door and under rails ("C" shaped clear space). The installer demanded 4-foot space at door and would not proceed without $175 added fee. He AND I then cleared the space in under 5-minutes. -- That's over $2100 an hour for his effort. A bit extreme. Estimator should be better informed."

There is no blanket number when it comes to glass thickness for soundproofing. Thicker glass does help reduce noise, but it’s only part of the solution. Most single-pane windows use glass that’s ⅛” to ¼” thick. While increasing the thickness can cut down on sound, the real noise-blocking power comes from stacking layers. Double—and triple-pane windows are far more effective for soundproofing. The combination of mass and separation breaks up sound waves better than thick glass could on its own.

Meanwhile, cylinder glass was used more commonly because it created large square sheets that could be shaped to fit windows of all shapes and sizes.  

The best way to move your wine glasses is to pack them upright in a divided padded box designed specifically for stemware. Remember to wrap each glass with bubble wrap or packing paper. To protect the stems, use soft padding to prevent shifting. Lastly, mark the box as "FRAGILE GLASSWARE."
