"When I replaced my gutters they were slightly larger than the old ones. I thought they would look just like the original ones. They are just lovely and added such a nice touch to my home"

Customers say: True professional

"I recently had gutters installed by GM Gutters, and I couldn't be more impressed with the whole experience. From the initial consultation to the final installation, everything was seamless and professional. The team arrived on time and immediately got to work, taking care to explain the process and answer any questions I had. They were efficient, and you could tell they knew exactly what they were doing. The installation itself was done with precision, and the gutters look fantastic! They even took the time to clean up afterward, leaving my yard looking better than before. The quality of the gutters is top-notch, and I've noticed they handle rainwater very well. I feel confident that these gutters will last for many years to come and protect my home from water damage. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service and highly recommend GM Gutters for anyone in need of gutter installation. Great work, great price, and excellent customer service!"

"I hired Mike & Mike to repair damage to my roof here at my home in Arlington. They came out and were very professional. They matched the shingles on my roof and replaced them. The price was very reasonable and the work was done the same day they came out for the estimate. Great experience."

"They bid and scheduled date. They came out and installed my gutters on front and rear of m mobile home. They also informed be that the center of my house has a 1 inch dip. So now we have to get it leveled. This is a 10 company. Great workmanship and completed fast. We had the front and rear gutters installed even coming back at no charge to run the down spouts into barrels for us."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Outside of regular maintenance, most gutter repairs are best left to the pros. Most gutter projects require basic ladder safety and (sometimes) getting on top of your roof. Without the proper equipment (or if you generally get a little nervous with heights), you could put yourself at risk of serious injury. On top of that, improperly repaired gutters could result in longer term damage that requires a full replacement.

Poor gutter drainage can cause sagging gutters, roof damage, mold, mildew, rot, basement flooding, and foundation cracks. With gutter replacement costs possible for just $500, getting the right system can save you thousands in repairs down the road.

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.
