"Purchased Angie's List special for Air Duct Cleaning for $149.  When technician arrived, his opening comments included the fact that it would not cover cleaning the return vent ... seemed strange to me.  He explained it was in the fine print of the offer.  I paid the extra charge to have the return vent cleaned (why would you not?!) but afterwards had this realization.  His offer was to clean 'up to 20' air vents; I only had 7 vents, so it seems to me he could have thrown in the return vent in place of the 13 vents he would have had to do in a larger house.  As far as I know, he did a good job; it's the kind of thing you can't really measure.  And, all in all, the price wasn't bad.  It seemed a little like the old "bait and switch" routine to me.  Offering a really low price to get your attention, and then adding on for services that would normally be included (at least, in my opinion).  That's the reason for the low marks on professionalism.
