"My husband and I moved to TN from NY three years ago. The last thing I did before leaving my previous home was admire my backyard in NY (and cry my eyes out for leaving it!) Our one issue with our new home was the awful backyard. I hated it!!! A tiny, narrow space on a steep slope of weeds prevented us from ever entertaining and left no room for the garden I always wanted. We had been searching for over a year for a crew to come in and help us with this monster project. Someone suggested I go on Angie’s List, so I finally went on and found DMC. First... David was one of the only (if not THE only) person to show up to our appointment as scheduled, on time and energetic. After multiple no shows and people with poor attitudes, we were grateful for his professionalism and awesome personality. We had been given estimates from other companies that were unrealistic or were incomplete for the work required. David was reasonable and realistic for what we were asking. The crew started the project in the timeframe given, and despite some unexpected changes in our design plans, they finished our major renovation in a timely manner. David and his crew turned our tiny hill of weeds into a perfect oasis that truly cannot be put into words. They met my most absurd requests and completely exceeded our expectations. We honestly miss having them at our home every day!! I highly recommend DMC Solutions and would be thrilled to show before and afters of the incredible job they’ve done. Thank you, David and crew, for everything!!"

"We had Michael Sovastion and Wade Loden out to our property to do some land clearing. Both gentlemen were on time. They were within the budget quoted. The work conducted was impeccable. They were polite, and went above and beyond. The care that they put into the job was most outstanding. I was very impressed of the attention to detail and care that was put into the equipment the used for the job. (This is a Military small owned business) that is doing outstanding work at every level. I plan to bring them back for more work in the future. My wife and myself are retired Military, we expect attention to detail and we got it 100% and then some. They have set the standard for all others to follow. "Paul and crew were fantastic. He came out several times to quote the work and to rework the quote to better fit in our budget. We had an existing deck extended and a ramp added, a new garage stairway built and a new deck built for our front entry. Our big focus for this project was improving access from the house to the outdoors for both my handicap husband and our aging arthritic dogs. He’s a busy guy (because he is good) therefore we had to wait awhile for the project to begin but it was worth the wait. They showed up on time every day until the project was completed. He asked for design clarification when necessary and changed coarse without complaint when changes needed to be made. Honest, trustworthy and talented. The quality of his (and crews) work was top notch. Paul takes pride in the quality of the materials used and his workmanship which shows in the end result. The deck in the front is a beautiful extension of our home that not only “classed up” the entry but extended our livable space in this home. Both my husband and I have many decades of home improvement under our belt and can say with confidence that Paul is a fantastic resource for any project you maybe considering. Very pleased."

The cost to reseed or overseed a lawn is about $1,050 on average, ranging from $450 to $1,700, depending on lawn size, seed type, and location. Popular seed types for residential lawns include bahia, fescue, and Bermuda. Keep in mind that it costs $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot to seed or overseed a lawn. Additional cost factors may include:
Fertilization: $80–$400
Soil testing: $700–$2,100
Yard cleanup and leaf removal: $200–$560
Treating weeds: $110–$325
Mowing: $50–$210
On average, the cost of lawn fertilization is $250, ranging from $80 to $400, depending on the size of the lawn, its current condition, additional treatments, number of applications, fertilizer type, and location. Keep in mind that labor, tools, and equipment make up 80% to 90% of the total cost of lawn fertilization. Additional lawn treatment options include:
Lime treatment: $100–$150 per 1,000 square feet
Crabgrass treatment: $30–$80
Grub treatment: $30–$80
Mulching: $150–$400
Dethatching: $265–$295
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
