"I should give this guy a bad review just so everyone will leave him alone so we can have him all to ourselves, but I can't. Tuck's work is so incredible and is very reliable on getting our lawn work done in a timely manner and I never have to track him down. I also hired him to remove a massive amount of brush we had growing behind our fence. He also did some tree trimming for us as well. "Got a call right away set up a day for him to come out and give quote. He was very pleasant to talk with, showed him some areas I was worried about he said no problem he would check it out and fix if he could. For residential properties, the standard minimum height for a deck railing is 36 inches. However, some states and municipalities have stricter requirements; for example, California and Washington mandate railings that are at least 42 inches high. This is enough space to allow water and small debris to pass through without collecting on the surface, but not enough to create a tripping hazard. Certain materials, like pressure-treated wood, shrink over time, so they may need less space at installation.

Before installing a deck, you must build a base for the deck to rest upon, often made of compacted soil or gravel. While gravel is an optional material, it helps with drainage. Some contractors also recommend installing a weed control membrane, which helps provide a solid foundation for the frame. In the case of an elevated deck, a pro will often lay down a concrete slab as a foundation.
